(40) Convincing Lie

The disturbed birds flew to Zi Clan. Elders stationed on the wall were awakened. However, there are no other disturbance afterwards. In the deeper part of the forest, Jin Xuan Meng was helplessly lying on the cracked ground. Her head was bleeding, her knees and palms were bruised too. Zi Yingjun scoffed at her. He saw her eyelashes move till her lifeless eyes were exposed. That moment, Zi Yingjun stood up.
"You think being brave can help you win? Hell, no." Zi Yingjun used his foot to turn her over. The bleeding had stained almost all part of her martial suit. Its his time to show her who's the slave and who's the master. "What made you think you can easily beat me up?"
Jin Xuan Meng closed her eyes and gritted her teeth. It was because she looked down on him. He's no one before this. "Boy, I told you we should just get rid of her and rob her stuffs. You're so insistent in giving her a chance to live." his voice echoed with limited range even though he is not moving his razor-sharp mouth.
"W-what are you?!" Jin Xuan Meng can feel the evident killing intent from the humanoid shadow.
"Someone you wouldn't wish to know." Zi Yingjun thought for a moment before deciding. "So, will you still wish to fight me or not? Make a wise choice."
"... I badly wanted to humiliate you, boss you around and cripple you." pausing a bit, Jin Xuan Meng clenched her fists in dismay for herself. "But like you said, I can only fight the enemy I can predict. It will take years for me to uncover your true self but by then, I can surely destroy you."
"Haha." Zi Yingjun laughed which left her stunned. Jin Xuan Meng's face went red in embarrassment. She had been serious with what she said but he just laughed it off?
"Damn you!" Jin Xuan Meng raised her foot and kicked him but Zi Yingjun continued laughing. She punched his arm and in the end, it was her who felt painful.
"Funny. Oh, what fun it is to talk with naive people." he wiped the tear from the corner of his eye and calmed down. Zi Yingjun stood up then casted her a glance. "Years from now, huh. That'll be a shame if you're not part of my faction."
"Faction?" her fist loosened a bit. What is he saying?
Zi Yingjun didn't say a word. He tossed a vial to her and turned his back. "Sovereign Hei, lets go. Jin Xuan Meng, make sure you survive. If not then I would be the one to spread your failure. And oh, you can keep the grasses. Sell them if you want."
Her eyes never left him. Jin Xuan Meng opened the vial to see countless pills inside in the shade of red. She took one out and with just a bite, she recognized it was a cultivating pill.
"Hoh. You pulled out a convincing lie that well." Sovereign Hei grinned. Its impossible an evil cultivator that had lived for hundreds of years will ever be that lenient. Unless, he wants to toy with Jin Xuan Meng.
"The other day, I asked Sui Shen if Jin Xuan Meng can be someone useful in the future. She is hesitant to tell me anything but Sui Shen said Jin Xuan Meng is someone very useful. "I never had the chance to ask you but, aside from me, who else survived the m******e the year after next?" Zi Yingjun turned to his shoulder. Sui Shen opened the book and overlooked the history. Her facial expression was calm and she closed it back.
"Master, there are three survivors and I excluded you from them. However, this lifetime, Master has a chance to change the number of survivors."
"Oh. I can decrease their number to zero." he smiled lightly as Sui Shen's face turned ugly. "Anyway, is Jin Xuan Meng one of them? What happened to her in my past life?"
This time, Sui Shen flinched. She looked down to avoid his narrowed eyes. "Well, Jin Xuan Meng survived. However, I am uncertain if she's someone very helpful or very dangerous for Master's existence."
