Before going back to the academy, Zi Yingjun reminded Hai Liang to continue it everyday. A week passed briskly. In the academy, Zi Yingjun was strangely polite and talkative when hanging out with Shi Zhao. Their classmates thought he must be seeing Shi Zhao as someone superior than him that he cant disrespect. Moreover, they seemed to be in good terms. In no time, Zi Yan Yue became part of their 'friendship'. She is a bit indifferent to Shi Zhao while always welcoming to Zi Yingjun.
"Zi Yingjun!" Shi Zhao greeted after the class was over. "Do you have anything to do this weekend?"
"Mn. Why?" he leaned off the chair to look at Shi Zhao. Zi Yan Yue stood up after arranging her materials and headed to their direction.
"Yingjun, Shi Zhao said Young Master Jin Xuan Meng invited him for a small banquet in Jin Clan. He had asked me out too. It will be tomorrow. Will you come with us?" Zi Yan Yue asked with full hope.
"Sorry but I cant. Uncle asked me to watch over his little guest." Zi Yingjun declined immediately. The three of them were walking to the corridor at the same time like usual. Even though crowded, since they are the mountain flowers and a school belle, the students can pave a way for them.
"Little guest? The clan leader have a new guest?" Shi Zhao asked in curiosity. But what does Zi Yingjun mean by little?
"No one important." Zi Yingjun answered before Zi Yan Yue can. He gave a meaningful glance to Zi Yan Yue to keep her silent. "Its just a kid that was lost. Uncle is busy so Im lending him a hand in taking care of a child. After all, he's not experienced being a father."
"True. Uncle is already old but he hadn't married yet." Zi Yan Yue changed the subject since she understood Zi Yingjun's thoughts. "I bet he will let Yingjun inherit his position. He doesn't have any child and I guess he is not planning to have one either. What do you think?"
"Well, I will worry if it will be Zi Yingjun. No offense, Im just being honest." Shi Zhao hurriedly waved his hands. In truth, he is already sighing in pity. In less than a year or so, Da Long Mountain will be erased without anyone knowing its existence or history. If he can save them, that will be fine but he will be disrespecting a powerful person's authority by then. Maybe even his master cant save him.
"Im not interested." Zi Yingjun broke his contemplation when he answered. They got out the building with the afternoon sun warming them. The bright sunlight made the autumn leaves fiery. "All I need is my mother's inheritance. Let Uncle solve his lack of heirs. He shouldn't drag me. Well then, see you again. And please remind Jin Xuan Meng not to get drunk. Shi Zhao, guard Ah Yue there."
The two of them can only watch Zi Yingjun leave. Afterwards, Zi Yan Yue and Shi Zhao exchanged glances. "Since he is not going, I should stay here too. Apology, I hope it doesn't mean any offense." she bowed down to apologize sincerely.
"Its fine." Shi Zhao looked calm but inside, he was disappointed. He could have lured Zi Yingjun or proved he is already Jin Xuan Meng's 'friend'.
"Master!" as soon as Zi Yingjun appeared in the manor, Hai Liang jumped on him like a stalking mantis. Zi Yingjun wasn't able to avoid her in time as he got caught. Hai Liang smiled naughtily. "Master, five days is almost five years for me. What took Master so long?"
"Quit it." Zi Yingjun looked unhappy. He had a difficult time removing her tight embrace. Upon freeing himself, Hai Liang can almost wag a tail while looking at him in an obedient way. "Be honest. Did you open another meridian?"
"Eh...hehe." Hai Liang scratched the back of her head. She nervously shook her head.
"Its obvious you're the sort of apprentice who does nothing if the teacher is away." he had expected this. Hai Liang is lazy, even when they were already one of the Five Great Villains. She never does anything unless she wants to cause mischief. Even her future master almost gave up teaching her. "You can start again tomorrow. With your speed, it'll take a couple of days to open all your eight meridians."
"Master, can I cultivate after opening my meridians?" she curiously asked. Hai Liang needs to cultivate fast and advance in levels. Once she returns to the Eastern Sea, she will surely beat her half sister.
"Of course. The eight meridians is where qi circulate over your body. It will lead down to your dantian which is here." Zi Yingjun touched her abdomen to point its location. He noticed her mischievous smile is back.
"Master, touch me more!"
"Heh." he formed a grin and observed her first. Zi Yingjun touched certain parts of her acupuncture points then Hai Liang realized she can no longer move. He picked her up on his shoulder before placing her on a pavilion. "There. Now be obedient and stay here. Don't worry, someone can free you. If they pass through here and see you troubled."
"Master, wait! Master!!!" Hai Liang shouted but Zi Yingjun continued walking to his courtyard. She felt aggrieved since she thought he doesn't mind her hokage moves. Furthermore, her impression of Zi Yingjun is that he is a passive bad boy. "What an evil master. Maybe he's saving himself for his cousin? Probably. But if I return to the Eastern Sea, I will get back on him!"
The next morning, Zi Yingjun had just opened his door when he met the same naughty red eyes. He did not expect someone helped her. Only physicians and martial artists can undo paralysis through acupuncture but almost no servant passed here since they wont bother with him.
"You look lively." Zi Yingjun noticed the glimmers across her pupils.
"Not. Its just how I look. I didn't even have a good sleep last night!" she lamented in fury. It was fortunate she fell asleep and lasted until morning. "Guess who undid what you did."
"No idea." he simply said. Just then, someone cleared his throat by the corridor. Zi Yingjun looked up to see an unexpected guest.
