(44) Two Nominees

Jin Xuan Meng's face boiled beneath her mask. She thought he will say something but he just stood there with his eyes narrowed. Oh, how embarrassing! Of all reasons she can come up with, this is the one she chose! For a long time, none of them spoke and Sovereign Hei laughed from the side. It's very humiliating, ah. She thought he, as a man, would reciprocate or decline politely but he is not even saying anything! Jin Xuan Meng lowered her head. Just as she did, she caught a glimpse of his hand curling into a fist.
"You're such a devil." finally, Zi Yingjun found his voice. He knelt down with one knee in front of her and saw through her trembling pupils. "One of these days, you will do the same thing again. Be thankful you still have some worth or else."
She blinked in confusion as Zi Yingjun left. Jin Xuan Meng was spared that day. She returned to her clan, confused if she should be angry or not. What a bully he is. Zi Yingjun did not decline nor reciprocated which means he knew she just made an excuse. Still, he embarrassed her in front of that laughing shadow!
Zi Yingjun solemnly opened his eyes. He can't cultivate well since a part of his memory kept flashing after the incident Jin Xuan Meng brought. It should be four hundred years or more but why does he feel uneasy?

"Next, Zi Yingjun and Zi Liu Liu." the teacher announced on the other ring.

Zi Yingjun stepped up and silence conquered the place. They knew well how painful it was when he beats them up. The male students turned their heads on the other platform where female students are fighting. They're so lucky they don't need to face a monster like Zi Yingjun, ah.
Not long later, Zi Liu Liu came forth. His hostility is evident from how angry he looked. This is an opportunity for Zi Liu Liu to beat Zi Yingjun into a pulp. After all, they are allowed to use their qi.
The gong was struck but Zi Yingjun did not move and Zi Liu Liu went with his full speed. He threw a decisive punch when his real motive was to kick Zi Yingjun. Unfortunately, he is battling an experienced old scoundrel. Zi Yingjun evaded the punch with just a tilt of his head. This made Zi Liu Liu to raise his foot but Zi Yingjun blocked it with his hand.
"Thank me later." Zi Yingjun smiled. He gripped Zi Liu Liu's ankle tightly and lifted him.

Everyone stoped and turned to the other platform. The female students and male students were both astounded. Zi Liu Liu was lying unconsciously on the cracked platform with his mouth and nose bleeding because of the impact. Nurses swarmed Zi Liu Liu to bring him out of the broken ring. No one spoke a word. Some felt fear, some felt astounded while other female students eyed at Zi Yingjun. He only finished it with one evasion and one move! Who wouldn't admire him?
Zi Yan Yue looked around her and most of her classmates are obviously seeing him in a new light. She can't help but snort in her heart. Before, they were disgusted of him because of his father. They won't hesitate to humiliate him when they were kids and only she was left to defend him from them aside from Zi Gu Wen. But look at then now. What a turn of events, how shameless they are.
"Hey, Zi Yan Yue! It's your time to fight now!" a fellow student of her reminded. Zi Yan Yue masked her hatred and went to the platform.
The whole day, Zi Yingjun doesn't even need to fight. He only have to stand on the ring to wait for his opponent but they made excused or conceive defeat. The final fight, he was able to get there without moving even spending any portion of his qi.
"Zi Yingjun and Zi Gu Bo, come up here!"
"At last." Zi Yingjun can see the determination from Zi Gu Bo. The last time they had a serious fight, Zi Gu Bo lost a tooth. However, he wasn't a coward like the others. He's a fool like Zi Liu Liu. The gong was struck and Zi Yingjun rushed to his enemy who did the same.
"Idiot." Zi Gu Bo thought. His space ring brightened and a halberd appeared in his hand. He swung it to Zi Yingjun's unprotected wrist.
"That's an inferior-level weapon!"
"Hah! Make him lose!"
"Show him who's the first-rate talent!"
Everyone expected for Zi Yingjun to lose but to their surprise, Zi Yingjun blocked the halberd with a black sword. The bladed clashed and caused a spark of flame. Zi Yingjun twisted his wrist. The halberd was thrown upward and Zi Gu Bo hurriedly went to take it back.
They should have known! Zi Yingjun won last season's tournament and received three weapons from each clan. Will Zi Gu Bo still win?
Zi Yingjun could care less of what they think and waited for Zi Gu Bo to steady himself. They clashed once more with sparks of flame appearing every time they attacked. He no longer have any interest to fool around. Zi Yingjun transferred his qi into the sword and blocked the halberd.
Eyes widened when the halberd disappeared. Even Zi Gu Bo can't understand what happened. It was already too late for him to move. Zi Yingjun waved the sword from a distance. A dark crescent qi flew out towards Zi Gu Bo. Before a teacher can intervene, Zi Gu Bo was struck by the attack.
