Sparks of fire ignited every time the sharp blades of weapons meet each other. Shi Zhao keep backing down. He cant believe Zi Yingjun can force him like this. Zi Yingjun is in the Qi Refinement Stage so why is he suppressing Shi Zhao? How can this happen? Shi Zhao thought it must be because the Shadow Asura helped him. In that case, he have to capture Zi Yingjun and destroy his cultivation so that the Shadow Asura will not harm anyone. Even though the Shadow Asura is stronger than Zi Yingjun, he entered a life contract and must treat Zi Yingjun as its master. Without Zi Yingjun's cultivation, his rank is also useless.
Shi Zhao used the green null magic. He keep defending himself and hit every scythe striking him. As he was doing this, the ground rumbled and green vines came out. They caught numerous scythe. Zi Yingjun was caught and the scythes became one sword. It flew towards Zi Yingjun to free him. Shi Zhao appeared in front of Zi Yingjun and blocked the sword before using all his might to push it backwards. The sword was repelled, unable to save Zi Yingjun.
"Its over." Shi Zhao turned to Zi Yingjun and aimed Bai Steel to his dantian. Zi Yingjun smiled haughtily and grinned. Shi Zhao saw a pill stuck between Zi Yingjun's teeth.
"Its just starting." Zi Yingjun bit the pill and swallowed it quick. The sky above them darkened and thunders erupted. Shi Zhao's eyes widened and took a step back as Zi Yingjun was struck with lightning. The vines around Zi Yingjun was easily reduced to ashes.
"That... He's entering the next realm?!" Shi Zhao realized the pill was to enhance Zi Yingjun's cultivation. The moment he fought against the scythes, Zi Yingjun was cultivating and successfully broke through the seventh level until he finally entered the Foundation Building. Shi Zhao cant find a way to get near Zi Yingjun. He's in his most vulnerable state since he is dealing with a tribulation but Shi Zhao cant get near him because of the catastrophe around Zi Yingjun.
"Master!" Hu quickly ran to him and bit Shi Zhao's back to take him away from the tribulation. Zi Gu Wen was on top of Hu's back and they can only leave Hai Liang for a while. Sovereign Hei just stood near the tribulation and Hai Liang was crying in despair.
"Wuwu! I don't want to die yet! I don't!" she wailed helplessly. Sovereign Hei shook her and raised his index finger to his lips as a gesture to silence her. Hai Liang pursed her lips. She can only cry in silence, ah.
Zi Yingjun rose up to his feet after the first lightning struck him. He stood there calmly and another lightning came. Finally, he can have his tribulation here. Zi Yingjun gave Sovereign Hei a glance and they both understood each other. He closed his eyes to cultivate and refine the qi in his body. Lightnings descended the darkened sky. Each getting stronger and stronger. However, Zi Yingjun remained calm. He had gone through a tribulation before so this pain is nothing. What he was worried of is that his body is not the trained one. It was still from a fifteen-year-old boy and there is a limit. That limit will keep Zi Yingjun behind his goal.
In a different realm, the River of Time flowed with minute spirits hovering about. A young girl in golden lotus dress sat on the riverbank while waiting for someone. Just then, she felt something off. Her back was itchy, as if something warm and quick was lashing at her like a whip.
"Ah, Fifth Guardian." Sui Shen quickly stood up to see a dragon descend the sky and stopped in front of her. She bowed in respect without noticing the dragon turned into a man.
"I heard you came back to have another Book of Time." the fifth guardian neared the River of Time then overlooked their reflection. Sui Shen nodded. "If you leave now, you will not be able to finish every histories. You're still here near the start."
He pointed to the waterfall nearby. Sui Shen pouted in dismay. "Fifth Guardian, I only inherited the Book of Time that is why it was difficult of me to store everything that occured in that world. Why should I leave anyway?" she drew out a confused look. The fifth guardian waved his sleeve and an image appeared across the River of Time. It was Zi Yingjun and he was being struck by strong lightnings. His robe was torn and burnt but his expression was unperturbed.
"Two experts are on their way. They are not like the Shi Zhao boy and they can surely break through the tribulation and destroy Zi Yingjun's cultivation."
Sui Shen's mouth gaped open. "How- how come?! I told him not to! Where is Sovereign Hei?! I should have known!" she face-palmed in anger. Sui Shen should have known. Sovereign Hei is crazily insane, Zi Yingjun is no less abnormal, why did she leave Sovereign Hei in charge of guarding the future demon king? Both of them are seeking death!
"Time Lotus Sui Shen?" a majestic tiger appeared that was biting a scythe made of ice. It turned into a cheerful little boy with tiger ears and fangs. He handed the scythe to Sui Shen. "Its from the second realm. A message for you."
"Huh?" Sui Shen drew out a question mark. She touched the scythe then heard Zi Yingjun's voice.
"Sui Shen, I can tell you are watching us but please, do not leave the River of Time and finish what I told you to finish. Sovereign Hei is here. Rest assured, we will not be harmed so just sit there and do what you have to do."
"This man!" her face contorted in anger. Sui Shen looked back to the image to see Sovereign Hei walking around freely when lightning can strike him anytime. A little girl wailed as he carried her with him. "I cant believe this! Why him out of all sinners?"
"The immortals chose him. We don't have a place to complain." the fifth guardian can only say. "If he dies, it will be your fault. But as I see it, he wil succeed to whatever he is planning."
