Head Teacher Zi Lao Shui brought Zi Yingjun and Zi Yan Yue in front of Spirit Beast Valley's entrance. No one is still around. This gave them time to discuss. Specially since Zi Yingjun might be the weakest among all candidates. That is what Head Teacher Zi Lao Shui and Zi Yan Yue is worried of. Last season, the first-rate talents of Hei Clan were in the fourth rank. Jin Clan's Jin Xuan Meng has a terrifying speed too. Who knows if she had advanced to the seventh rank? Or worse, entered the next realm.
"Today's competition has changed. It requires three days of survival inside Spirit Beast Valley. This is Jin Clan's new idea. Those that can survive and has more hunts will win. You two need to cooperate as a group in order to win. Zi Yan Yue, watch over Zi Yingjun." Head Teacher Zi Lao Shui said though he can see the disagreement in Zi Yingjun's gaze. "Student Yingjun, you know this is for your safety. If you cant survive, Jiang Clan will make your clan suffer. Don't do anything reckless that can endanger Zi Yan Yue either."
"Hey, Zi Yan Yue. What rank are you in?" Zi Yingjun just ignored Zi Lao Shui. This nearly made the head teacher scold him. Zi Lao Shui knew Zi Yingjun is the most unrestrained student within the academy. However, with his recklessness comes with his talent. None of the teachers can tell if Zi Yingjun was worth teaching or not. After all, he had caused so many misfortunes but had been astoundingly rewarded.
"F-fifth rank. I cant advance in the sixth rank for some reason..." Zi Yan Yue scratched the back of her head. She is about to ask the same question when they heard a loud flap with the strong gust of wind. The three of them looked up to see Hei Clan and Jin Clan riding aerial spirit beasts. As usual, Jin Xuan Meng was selected too. She is with a familiar Jin Clan member. If Zi Yingjun remembers correctly, it was Jin Lixing. Hei Clan's two first-rate talents are also present.
"Hoh. Why don't we acquaint our talents?" Head Teacher Hei Su came down with the candidates of Hei Clan. His face turned sinister when he saw Zi Yingjun. "Ah, Old Zi. Your academy seems to be in trouble. Aren't you worried for that boy's safety? My candidates are trained dangerously, you know. You two, introduce yourselves."
"Hei Si Yin, first-rate talent in the sixth rank." the female one said.
"Hei Wen Zhu, first-rate talent in the fifth rank." he bowed down indifferently while speaking.
"Quite a cold greeting, old man." Jin Xuan Pei fanned himself lightly. He gestured for the two to do the same.
"Jin Xuan Meng. First-rate in the sixth rank."
"Jin Lixing, second-rate in the fifth rank." she glanced at Zi Yingjun with a triumphant smile. Jin Lixing heard he may be a second-rate talent but he was unfavored by his very own uncle and clan. Thus, there is a chance she was nurtured better than him.
"Hmph." Zi Lao Shui snorted. He waved his hands as an agreement. "Don't be rude. Introduce yourselves as well."
"Zi Yan Yue, first-rate talent in the fifth rank." she glared towards the four opponents. The looks they are giving Zi Yingjun is obviously full of disdain. Demonic cultivators are seen as the lowest kind of person in this world. They were sinful and can do anything heinous just for their unfulfilled desire. Since Zi Yingjun's father is a demonic cultivator, they see him as a disgraceful person. Zi Yan Yue doesn't like it when they belittled him. Much less give him that sort of look.
A long silence had passed. Everyone of them is waiting for Zi Yingjun to speak but he nonchalantly yawned and stretched his arms. "Are we just going to stand here all day? I have a life to live so please hurry." he even dared to complained. Most of them were infuriated but Zi Yan Yue giggled softly. This is the Zi Yingjun she is starting to get compatible with. As for Jin Xuan Meng, she scoffed in annoyance.
"He's really a bastard." she muttered, enough for Jin Lixing and Jin Xuan Pei to hear. They nodded in agreement though. Not even the most disrespectful student in their academy can do something like that. But Zi Yingjun, he arrogantly lamented as if it was their fault his life turned bored.
Jin Xuan Pei cleared his throat and closed the fan he is holding. "Alright. We will be expecting your return in three days. However, no harmful tactics should be executed. My Jin Clan had hired an inspector incase we doubt a foul play happened. Thus, heed my warning. Fair competition shall be allowed but scheming is not. You may go now."
"Dage, if I die, just openly murder Zi Yingjun. Avenge me, en?" Jin Xuan Meng patted her brother's shoulder. He lightly chuckled and watched his younger sister leave. Jin Xuan Pei warily turned to Zi Yingjun who flashed a brief malicious smile.
"Good luck, Zi Clan." Hei Si Yin grinned and entered Spirit Beast Valley with Hei Wen Zhu. Zi Yan Yue stuck her tongue out in retortion.
"Hmph. If only I can kick them out." Zi Yan Yue unhappily said. She heard a sigh next to her as they approached the entrance.
"Zi Yan Yue." he called out. Zi Yingjun stopped and looked upwards the arching trees. "I wont be a burden as long as you wont look for trouble. We can have a separate way there but if we do that, you might get harmed."
"Hey, are you suggesting to have your own way and leave me alone?" Zi Yan Yue frowned.
"If possible." Zi Yingjun nodded. He playfully placed his hand on top of her head and made her look forward. "But if I do that, Brother Wen will blame me. Just remember. Don't interact with the Hei Clan candidate. Now let's go."
"We can win this! I'll be the one to protect you this time." she thought. Zi Yan Yue can still remember, the Zi Yingjun she knew in the past was always there to defend her when Zi Gu Wen had entered the academy.
