(101) Another Feral Semi-Devil

The stage lowered down and there was silence. Zi Yan Yue knew the fight should continue but without the stage upwards the sky. The elders could have saved her but they must have thought Zi Yingjun can. However, she experienced how she fell down the ground while Zi Yingjun knelt on the edge of the stage, holding the broken necklace. He actually looked sad that time. Zi Yan Yue wiped her tears then faced the teachers' position.

"I forfeit." she announced. The arena went silent before an uproar rose. They were disagreeing for her to forfeit. It was like she is admitting she will not go against Zi Yingjun. Zi Yan Yue did not listen and headed down the stage. Even if she fights Zi Yingjun again, she will lose in the end. Zi Yan Yue ignored the disagreements she received. Upon raising her head, she saw her parents among those watching them. Zi Yanfan shook her head with a disappointed look but Zi Mingde gave an assuring smile.

"You almost died." Zi Yan Yue retreated to a corridor leading upwards the student area when she heard a familiar voice. From the shadowy corner, Zi Qing He appeared. "You know, I thought Zi Yingjun will not save you. He actually did."

"Yingjun will not let me die." Zi Yan Yue stopped and took out a soul core. Her brows knitted. "Will the spirit beast be fine?"

"As long as you won't use it for few days. It will heal itself." Zi Qing He raised a black string that is holding a dark soul core. "Zi Yingjun almost killed Lieren. You could have avenged him for me. He's now having a hard time recuperating."

"Lieren? You used Lieren to fight Yingjun?" a frown appeared on Zi Yan Yue's face. She began to understand it was Zi Qing He who injured Zi Yingjun. "Qing He, please don't hurt Yingjun next time."

"Hmph." a snort is what she can only reply.

Zi Yingjun took a rest as he sat next to the headteacher. He leaned his head on his hand and overlooked the stage. Ye Zen and Zi Gu Bo will fight next. As of now, there was still a little dancing entertainment in order to keep the audience patient. Sovereign Hei suddenly appeared behind him.

"News?" he didn't even look at Sovereign Hei and asked in a low tone.

"There is." Sovereign Hei turned his hollow eyes to Zi Qing He who is next to Zi Yan Yue. The two girls were chatting in a carefree way. "This Zi Qing He cares about the Black Death demon beast. She almost emptied her adoptive mother's vault just to heal the demon beast quick. Moreover, yesterday night..."

Zi Qing He was crying in relief that Lieren was fully healed that night. "Lieren, why did you do that? You took all the force Zi Yingjun used. I can withstand him. He's just in the third rank without progress." she wiped her tears as she knelt in front of a curtained bed. Sovereign Hei was watching them and looked through the curtain. He is a bit stunned to see a young man behind the curtains.

"No, you will not." he answered slowly. "Zi Yingjun have a faint demonic aura around him. He must have made a contract with a demon beast too. However, I wish I could say more but now is not the convenient time."

"Lieren, tell me." she tried to lift the curtain but a strong wind pushed her hand. Zi Qing He quickly kept a distance.

"A Shadow Asura is spying on us."

Sovereign Hei paused. He met the eyes of darkness from the curtain. Lieren gave him a threatening glare.

"Heh, so she is more interesting than I thought." Zi Yingjun followed Sovereign Hei's gaze and stared at Zi Qing He. "You don't have to spy on them. Or else, that Lieren might know I sent you. There is a chance, he's also a Feral Semi-Devil."

It was Ye Zen and Zi Gu Bo's match next. after the entertainment, they finally appeared on the stage. In the past, Zi Gu Bo had a spar with Ye Zen and lost. Ye Zen is quite friendly which taught Zi Gu Bo to be less proud and even befriended Ye Zen whom he thought as an enemy before. Now, he can finally have a fair match against Ye Zen.

The drums were struck and at the same time, they retrieved their own weapon. Zi Gu Bo held the same halberd but this time, rune markings are on its handle. Ye Zen was never a rune master from the start so he cant tell how much it strengthened the halberd. Still, he took out an inferior level sword. It was slim and thin with one blade. Unlike jian swords, it was similar to a samurai's weapon.

They moved at the same time as the halberd and sword clashed. Ye Zen noticed the rune symbols glowing and he was pushed back. He took a step behind to keep a distance. The halberd was then surrounded by flashing lightnings.

"He's underestimating Zi Gu Bo." Zi Yingjun commented. Headteacher Zi Lao Shui nodded upon hearing his remark. In his past life, Zi Gu Bo received an inferior level halberd with a quasi-rune master's work. Zi Clan have some quasi-rune masters and an old rune master. He cant tell who among them enhanced the halberd. However, from the looks of it, the rune symbols came from a quasi-rune master.

Ye Zen took a deep breath. He lashed the sword upward and a strong wind force headed to his opponent. Zi Gu Bo held the halberd with both hands and withstood the strong gale. The rune symbols brightened and a lightning from it struck Ye Zen. He hastily dodged and waved the sword again. Another strong gale rushed to Zi Gu Bo.

"Heh." Zi Gu Bo smiled haughtily. He thrusted the halberd with few centimeters away from it. Lightnings came out of the halberd and engulfed the wave of wind. In a quick second, Zi Gu Bo hooked the halberd to the surging wave. He made a spin and sent the wave back to Ye Zen.
