(52) Saving Jin Xuan Meng

Zi Yan Yue looked around. She is sure this is not her room and the sight outside the window was scenic. It's full of springing blue orchids and a crystal lake nearby. The forest she had been expecting to see is not around. In fact, she prefers to stay there than see the breathtaking view here. Wherever Zi Yingjun is, its what she can call home. Zi Yan Yue turned back to Hei Wen Zhu who came back. He had told her what happened. From when they found her unconscious after forcing her dantian until the time Zi Yingjun left her in their care.

Hei Wen Zhu sat on the bedside with a gauze in hand. "May I?" he meant by cleaning her wound again. After all, he rushed himself to aid her a while ago and since they are here, he have enough time to take care of her.

"I've troubled you. Uhm, thank you but I have to find Yingjun." Zi Yan Yue declined. She is not comfortable here and Hei Wen Zhu is a stranger, a young master of the clan they treated as an enemy. Moreover, she can remember how he looked down on Zi Yingjun.

"No need to rush. Your cousin seems fine, he was able to take down two Horned Beast Sheep on his own." Hei Wen Zhu hinted. However, she doesn't feel suspicious of Zi Yingjun's true cultivation level. "Don't you feel aggrieved he left you just like that? He didn't even ask if you're alright or-"

"Yingjun lives his own life. He doesn't need to be bothered because of me." she can tell he is also against Zi Yingjun. Hei Wen Zhu doesn't know Zi Yan Yue has been warned not to cause Zi Yingjun another trouble. This is the second time she failed him on the very second day. How will they survive if one is clumsy? What he said is right, she needs to be more careful or he might abandon her next.

"Sigh, you cant look for him. He told me to take care of you. Maybe this noon, he'll come back to retrieve you so do not worry anymore. Im sure Zi Yingjun is a capable man." he assured Zi Yan Yue. "Anyway, you don't have to be distant towards me. I mean no harm. Believe me or not."

Zi Yan Yue moved her feet but her knees were aching. She sighed. If Zi Yingjun was here, he'd be ready to give her a treatment and easily cure injuries.

A frosty arrow was yet again shot towards the wolf. It got stuck to its front limb and ice started to cover it until its claws. The wolf growled loudly with the intervention. Cracks appeared on the ice around its limb and turned to crystals. Zi Yingjun looked back to see Jin Xuan Meng's situation. She successfully made the Dire Boars rush to every direction. However, the wolf is getting nearer.

Zi Yingjun aimed an arrow in the middle of the pillars. Another icy pillar emerged but it's a bit thicker than the others. He leapt upwards and stood on the narrow pillar's top. Zi Yingjun closed an eye. He pulled the bow's string then two arrows formed. The wolf got closer and closer before he let go. Two arrows moved their separate ways. He had applied a portion of his divine consciousness on each arrow so that he can maneuver it easily. His eyes flashed a sharp light. Zi Yingjun moved his hand and the arrow struck in a fast speed into the wolf's eyes.

A painful howl resounded from the wolf that the land shook. Jin Xuan Meng made a stop on the ground. The thin pillars started to collapse and the Dire Boars suddenly fell on a pit just where the icy pillars stood. Her eyes widened when she realized an ice pillar is behind her. The pillar broke and the ground she stood went hollow.

"Crap!" she cursed and leapt upward just as a Dire Boar fell down with her. Jin Xuan Meng stepped on the Dire Boar which helped her reach the upper level. Upon turning ahead, she noticed that the wolf kept banging its head on the cliff. Zi Yingjun approached it with a familiar black sword.

He recalled an effective and deadly technique for the outer court disciples of his previous demonic sect. Since he took control of it for almost three hundred years, he had stored a lot of knowledge from it specially since his mission in his past life was to find the Time Lotus Essence. Zi Yingjun concentrated half of his qi into the sword while refining more energy from the outside. The sword glowed ominously then Zi Yingjun raised it in front of his chest. He swiped his palm on the front blade.

"Sovereign Hei." he called out in his dantian. Sovereign Hei appeared next to him with his usual grin. Zi Yingjun no longer hesitated when the wolf turned to their direction with its eyes formed to ice. "I already gave my pact, it's your turn to do the rest."

"Hoh. You sure are willing?" Sovereign Hei clicked his tongue in bewilderment. He's a very dangerous demon beast and yet Zi Yingjun offered his body to be in his control just to defeat the spirit beast.

"Its better than dying here. The spirit beast ahead is definitely in the peak of Foundation Building. We stand no chance against it." he solemnly said and looked back to Jin Xuan Meng who is rushing closer to check on his progress.

"What about the girl?"

"Who cares. She had done enough so she can die peacefully." Zi Yingjun snorted. In the first place, they had enmity in between them so it's impossible for Jin Xuan Meng to trust him that quick. He knew she is planning to earn his trust and then backstab him one day.

Sovereign Hei sighed helplessly. He entered Zi Yingjun's body from his forehead. Zi Yingjun's eyes went black with a small contracted blue green irises. Sovereign Hei grinned, since he is in control, he can do what he wants.

"You!" Jin Xuan Meng was stunned when he grabbed her wrist and pulled her close. She was left speechless to see his eyes changed and a visible mark appeared around his right eye starting from the cheek.

"Stay close." Sovereign Hei smiled deviously. Deep in the void of consciousness, Zi Yingjun's face blackened. He can tell Sovereign Hei considered saving Jin Xuan Meng.
