(14) Immense Desire

After shutting the door in front of Jiang Mei Hua's face, Zi Yingjun wore a satisfied smile. That woman caused a lot of trouble in his previous life. He would try his best avoiding contact with her even if before or after marriage.

Zi Yingjun went off to the hunting ground. Spotted Panther cant support his cultivation anymore. He has to hunt different beasts at least in fourth rank. He has intensified the poisonous pills and it can instantly kill any beasts below the sixth rank. If he were to encounter a beast within fifth rank, the poison is not enough to take them down.

Unfortunately, if he can find paralyzing herbs, it would be better than using poison but the hunting ground have no such. He can only patiently wait for the merchant caravan then purchase half of what he needed this time. Every year during Summer, the merchant caravan of different large-scale clans will arrive here in Da Long Mountain where Zi Clan is settled. They would leave after a month and proceed to another clan.

"Oh? Saber-toothed Leopard of the spirit beast race in fourth rank. This is a good one! Its temperament is milder than a demon beast and if it's luck, I can get a soul core from it." Zi Yingjun observed the leopard that is wandering around. He stopped using his divine sense and went nearby the spirit beast when a sudden change happened.

Hissing sound came out of nowhere. A black mist rushed towards the Saber-toothed Leopard. Zi Yingjun has a heavy feeling and hurriedly went back to his previous position then used his divine sense. He was stunned to see the spirit beast rotting quickly. A black gas continuously exuding out of its body.

"Damn it! The Shadow Asura is lingering around!" he quickly deactivated his divine sense and went as far as he could, even reaching the gate again. Zi Yingjun unhesitatingly left the hunting ground for today. It's best if he wont enter and scout around tomorrow. The Shadow Asura is an assassination type demon beast and with its unkind nature, Zi Yingjun will surely die. However, a sly smile appeared on his face as he stepped out of the hunting ground.

He have a guess the Shadow Asura is a good prey for his first demon beast. If it were others, they wont even think of possessing a beast with demonic nature. That is why beasts are divided into two types, demon and spirit. Spirit beasts are easier to tame and has a benevolent temperament, they respected their masters and left them unharmed.

As for demon beasts, don't even think about it! Once a cultivator made contract with it, the demon beast can commit treason or harm its own master. For example, they can corrode their master's soul and occupy the body. It will be disastrous for the human race if a demon beast possesses a human body to attain wisdom and cultivate to a higher level. Another is disobeying their master's order. If a cultivator wants to use their soul core, the demon beast have a chance of rejecting their call whether unconscious or not. It will lead to their master being harmed or even death for failing to call the demon beast.

There are some cases where demon beasts drove their masters to insanity. Lastly, they can influence their master to turn into a demonic cultivator with the greatest bloodthirsty personality. It often caused the righteous path forces a big headache.

However, Zi Yingjun is not a cowardly person. He believed in the saying 'greater risks comes with greater rewards'. Demonic cultivators thinks this way. Although demon beasts are harmful, they are much more powerful than spirit beasts. If Zi Yingjun can tame the Shadow Asura one day, he can gain all of its attribute. Such as speed in travelling, maybe even Foundation Building cultivators can't chase him who is only at the Qi Refinement Stage. There is also stealth, it can help him a lot if he wants to infiltrate a large scale clan or even super forces!

Also, thinking of how the Shadow Asura killed the Steel Skin Bull in one blow made Zi Yingjun have an immense desire to have it at all cost. Unfortunately, he is still too weak to deal with it. There is a problem and that is how to catch that demon beast. Taming it will be easy since it will be battle of soul and it was below celestial realm. His next step is to find a way to kill the Shadow Asura.

Zi Yingjun had a nice rest in Saturday. The next night, he went to hunt by the previous place where the Saber-toothed Leopard died. He knew that the Shadow Asura frequently moved around and it wont stay in one place. If his guess is correct, once it finished wandering everywhere, the Shadow Asura would choose the core zone. Its the most secluded place than any other area.

This time, he took down variant demon and spirit beasts. His gains are a lot more better this time. The beasts he hunted are at the fourth rank and the price is quite high. The rest of the week, he didn't encounter the Shadow Asura again but it left traces of corpses. Zi Yingjun would avoid those place on the other day then hunt in that place the next day.

It is Friday again, Zi Yingjun is still under the shade of a tree. He was leaning his back there while crossing his arm and had his head lowered. Zi Yan Yue have finished fighting and came down victoriously. She glanced at Zi Yingjun's direction, having the impulse to stand beside him. However, recalling how he avoided her the whole week and seemed to have forgotten everyone else's existence, her courage went to rock bottom.

"Teacher, can I have a spar with Zi Yingjun?" someone suddenly raised their hand. Zi Yingjun's eyelashes fluttered as he looked up to the person who challenged him. It was Zi Gu Bo.
