A month passes by, so many things have happened by now. Three weeks ago on that Miami vacation with my friends, it was so fun and full of memorable events that we even extended it for another day despite the next day being Monday.
And things between me and Lucifer were escalating. I got to hang out with him and his friends. They were all nice and friendly except Aidan and Milo. Milo wasn't rude, but when I tried to talk to him he didn't reply or he would just give a short one.
Aidan, of course, is a freaking asshole.
But as I noticed them around me, they were sometimes whispering at each other, then looking at me. I wasn't the only girl there, they'd brought along their girlfriends as well, who were obnoxious and full of themselves.
It didn't bother me much, and I got along well with one couple, who were Iris and Jazz. They were both the life of the party and made humorous jokes. They suited well with each other and have been dating for two years now.
Today is Friday again with no school for me and Lucifer, only half a day. But he's going to do overtime in his part-time job as he really would like to be the employee of the month so he could get a bonus.
But he promised me a date tonight, and that's exactly what I was preparing for.
I bought a new royal blue dress that complimented my blue eyes greatly. It was an asymmetrical knee-length dress. Pairing it with a two-inch black stiletto, I was ready to go and meet him.
Looking back in the mirror once again, I smiled.
You look like a gem, Blue.
Indeed, a gem.
Nervously breathing, I also check if I have my money with me. I don't want him to pay for the whole thing, I don't want him to think that I'm stingy about money.
Flagging down a cab, I stepped in and gave the driver the address.
Lucifer told me that after his overtime, he would head there and I should just go and meet him up.
From what he had told me, he was working two part-time jobs. He was a waiter at a high-end class restaurant, and the other one was some kind of temporary office clerk since the original one had maternity leave.
He told me it would be good for experience once he graduates, which I agree on.
Stuck in New York traffic as always, I sat back and relaxed as the driver gave me a smile which I returned to.
Remembering Naomi last month, an unknown smile appeared on my face.
"He loves my mac n' cheese. Do you know that? Every time he visits, I know he is expecting me to cook him something, and that something is this baby," Naomi says, referring to the mac' n' cheese she was making.
"It smells lovely, Naomi."
"But do you know that Lucifer is also a great cook? He got that from me, not from his father who was a lousy ass cook," She said, lowering down her tone as she talked about her late husband.
I laughed and thought that Lucifer had never cooked for me once.
"I didn't know that. Maybe if we were back in the city I would ask him to cook for me."
"You should do that dear," She suggests and places it inside the baking oven and covers it, then looking at me with a big smile. "It should be done in thirty minutes tops."
Suddenly wanting to ask a question, I hummed.
"You want to ask? Shoot away!"
"Just interested to know why you allowed Lucifer to live away from you when his life here is easier."
Come to think of it, Naomi does a full-time job as a nurse here in their local hospital from what she told me earlier. It pays her well and even gets her the chance to save more money and send it to Lucifer, only for it to be sent back.
"He wanted to be independent and didn't want to live on my money. He told me to save it up for myself, and soon he would be the one working for us two. As a mother, I didn't want to allow him to be far from me as you probably know something about his sister, my other baby," Then her eyes turned sad as she thought about it.
Placing my hand on top of hers, I gave her a small assuring smile.
"But I gave him a chance, and I told him that if I visited and I saw him starving himself to death, he would come back no matter what. It's our ultimatum, and every time I visit I see him doing well. My boy is not some typical lazy ass, you're lucky to have him too."
She winks and pokes at my sides.
I only chuckled and grinned at her.
"I know, I see him as a successful man in the future."
"You know what, it also scares me that one day he won't need his mommy anymore. Oh, do you want to see his baby pictures? He looks so cute!" She gushed, and was about to head out of the kitchen when Lucifer arrived.
"I will always need you mom. Don't think that I will forget about you. And please, oh don't show her my baby pictures."
He frowned, wrapping his arms around her.
Naomi smiles and hugs him back but still proceeds to push him away and grab that album he was dreading for me to see.
"Come on, you were so cute back then," Naomi cooed, Lucifer's face falling as he realized that he couldn't stop his mom.
Reluctantly letting her go, she dashes off to where the albums were at.
"What a beautiful sight in the morning, good morning buttercup."
He walked towards me and trapped me between the counter and his body before giving me a haste kiss.
"Good morning to you too, how's sleep?"
"It was fine, but it would have been more lovely if you had stayed."
He burrowed his face into my neck.
Giggling, I tried pushing him away, as it would be awkward if his mom caught us both in this position.
Successful in pushing him away, I tapped his nose and whispered at him to wait for tonight and I'd give him more cuddles.
Naomi finally came back with two thick baby blue albums of Lucifer, placing them in front of me. She waves her hand around like a magician.
"Ta-da, he has a lot of baby albums, but for now those two are good," She excitedly opened up the first album that had a name on it's cover.
'Lucifer:1'
And as we flip to the first page, it was a picture of her first ultrasound and pregnancy stick. Knowing that it had some pee, I shuddered mentally at the thought of why mother kept theirs.
Mama only kept hers from when she got the twins and Nite.
On the second page, it was a newborn baby.
"Oh look, it shows your little friend here."
I pointed out that while laughing, someone took this photo with him naked as a baby whilst blood was still everywhere on his body.
A picture of Naomi sitting up in bed with Lucifer in her arms, and her husband on the right side.
"You're right Naomi, he looks very much like his father." I smiled, inching my face closer to it.
And for the next pages, it was just photographs of him as a baby. When he took his first step, what his first word was, his first picnic day with his dad.
The next album showed him as a toddler. He was always smiling in his photos and I noticed that he was indeed closer to his father as he took more pictures with him smiling while his dad carried him in his arms.
"I miss him."
And before I knew it, Naomi turned emotional. Lucifer turns to hug and soothe her, probably feeling the same.
I gave them their moment and looked at the album once again.
Maybe Patri had kept some albums of me and Ametrine when mom was still alive. Ametrine and I see pictures of us with mom rarely. Maybe Patri's just too busy to let us know where he hid it.
But once I have a chance to visit home, I'll ask about it.
Then the timer goes off, indicating that Lucifer's favorite mac' n' cheese has been made.
"Come on kids, let's eat some yum yum!"
Snapping back to reality, we stopped.
Paying to the driver, I thanked him and stepped out, enjoying New York's fresh and cold night air.
The area surrounding me screams fancy and so I sense that we'll be having a date at some classy restaurant. It didn't matter where we would have a date, it mattered more that I was with him.
Texting Lucifer where I was, he replied quickly that he would be coming here.
Five minutes pass, he finally arrives with a bouquet of flowers in his hand and he is dressed in a suit.
"Oh my, you look so handsome."
Placing both of my hands on top of his shoulders, I saw his tensed shoulders relax under my touch. With a goofy smile, he gave me the bouquet he was holding.
Smelling them, "Thank you for the flowers."
"You don't look too bad for yourself, buttercup."
He winked, giving me a kiss.
"So where are we headed to?" I asked.
"It's a surprise. Oh by the way, I want you to wear this blindfold please."
Then he handed me his handkerchief.
"Are you going to kidnap me and take me somewhere then kill me?" I jokingly asked.
He pretended to think about it before shrugging his shoulders and nudging it with mine.
"Maybe."
"You're a dork, do you know that?" I said, rolling my eyes.
I decided to play his game and tied his handkerchief around my eyes, then held unto him.
"You better not kill me."
LUCIFER'S P.O.V.
As I lead this beautiful blonde to the restaurant I work at, I see my other co-workers giving me a thumbs up inside, letting me know that everything was ready.
"We're here buttercup," I whispered in her ears as we made ourselves step inside the restaurant.
Gently taking off her blindfold, I gave a signal to my guys to open the lights and tune to music.
'Don't Know What To Say by Ric Segreto'
I have loved you only in my mind
But I know that there will come a time.
You'll feel this feeling' I have inside.
You're a hopeless romantic is what they say.
Fallin' in and out of love just like a play
Memorizin' each line
I still don't know what to say
What to say
Don't know what to do
Whenever you are near
Don't know what to say
My heart is floating in tears
When you pass by, I could fly
"Oh my... god. W-what?" Blue turned to me with surprise written all over her face.
I suddenly felt shy. All of a sudden, I rubbed the back of my neck and gestured to the only table in the middle of the restaurant with rose petals scattered around it.
A candlelit dinner, just for the two of us.
"You deserve this, agape mou."
I internally cringed at myself at how I pronounced the Greek term for my love. I searched for it earlier.
She laughs and turns to look at the table again, still in disbelief.
"How could you pull this off? I thought you were going to work overtime?" She whispers as I lead her to her chair.
Pulling it out for her, she took a seat.
I take mine in front of her and give her a big ass smile.
"For the past month, I've been planning this so I could give you a night you deserve since you have been so busy with your studies. I wanted to give you a night of relaxation, so here it is," I explained.
She was in awe.
And my egotistical side is grinning.
She thought I wouldn't do that, huh?
Oh contraire, agape mou.
I thought inside my head, then my buddy Rex approached us with the appetizers I ordered for tonight. I prepared a whole meal for us, and since I worked here and got to know what she would like, I took the audacity to order for her.
"This is amazing, Luci... I can't believe that this would happen to me. No offense meant."
Then she looked apologetically at me, as if thinking I was offended at what she had said.
"None taken buttercup, don't worry." I reassuringly said.
"And I like the way you said agape mou," She teased.
"Oh shut up, I tried my best." I grumbled. She just shook her head then lowered her gaze to the appetizers in front of us.
"What do you have in store for us?"
"For the appetizers, I ordered your favorite Greek salad with mozzarella sticks. I know you love your cheese."
Ever since mom made us mac n' cheese, cheese has become one of her favorite foods.
Any type of cheese you name, she wants it.
We both got the same order as I wanted to know what was so addicting about Greek salad.
"You're the best, do you know what?" She says in a breath.
Smirking at her, I only gave her a wolfish grin.
"Come on buttercup, take that first bite."
She does what I said and instantly she moans at the delightness of her food.
Wish I was that food, right now.
As she continued munching down, I stared at her with admiration. When Aidan told me all about her, I thought she was some stuck-up b***h, since most women with money were always like that.
And then, when Jeremy arranged me for a date with her, I was nervous too, as I was afraid that she would status-shame me once she got to know my status.
Then that night, she proved me wrong.
Looking at her once again, my heart thumped painfully inside my chest as I imagined doing a lot of amazing things with her.
I can't wait for the future that is ahead of us.
"You remember what we talked about, right?"
Aidan's voice suddenly ran inside my head, shaking my head. I have erased him for now. I don't need his stupid face ruining my night.
"What are you thinking about?" Blue asks, looking at me with those dreamy eyes of hers.
"Nothing, let's enjoy our dinner buttercup."
===
"So tell me the whole story about how you planned that date, hmm?" Blue asks, her finger tracing shapes in my bare chest as we both sit down on the couch inside my dorm room.
When we finished our date, we walked home and decided that she would have a sleep over at mine and we would have some movie night today with popcorn.
We were both full, so we were fine with just popcorn.
While the movie was still loading, I decided to answer her.
"When you were away on your trip with your friends, I asked them about what you wanted to experience when you have a boyfriend or so. They mentioned you like going on dates and just spending quality time."
"Since we've been going on numerous dates, I decided to take it up a notch for this one, since I really wanted to treat you better and what you truly deserve," I continued.
And as she replied to what I had said, my mind wandered off to the question I was dying to ask.
I'd planned to ask them earlier after our dinner date finished, but I chickened out and got nervous about being rejected in front of my coworkers, so I was thinking of maybe just asking her on our next date.
"Hello, are you still there?" Blue asks, playfully knocking at my forehead gently.
Chuckling, I took her hand to my mouth and gave it a kiss.
"Let's focus on the movie," I whispered.
She nodded, and then it began playing.
While watching, I ran my hand through her hair, loving how long and soft it was in my hands.
"I think you're not focusing on the movie," She giggled, then taking the remote and pausing.
"How could I? When there's a beautiful woman by my side," I compliment her with sincerity. It is true.
She was indeed beautiful.
Other than my mother and little sister, she's the next beautiful woman I've ever had the chance to lay my eyes on.
Even though she was just wearing my shirt, which looked cute on her because it was so big... she still looked so damn hot in my eyes.
Then she sat down on my lap, both having completely forgotten about the movie night we had planned.
"I'm so happy right now, and I'm afraid that something or someone could ruin this for us. So if you have secrets, please tell me right now," She whispers as her finger traces my whole face.
A thought ran in my mind, but I immediately erased it.
No, I can't let her know about this. She would instantly leave.
"None, I really don't have anything to tell you."
Lies. Lies. Lies.
"Well, I do have one." Then her voice got so sexy as if she was seducing me.
Shutting my eyes tight, I feel myself getting hard when I see her lips itching near me.
"Y-yeah? What is it?" f**k, my man's pride has just been stepped on.
What's with the stuttering boy?
"I want to give you lots of kisses right now."
"So why don't you?" I dared.
Then she started on my forehead, trailing downward until she reached my lips.
"Thank you for giving me the best night ever, baby." Then I felt her luscious hot lips on mine.
Closing my eyes, I placed my hands behind her back and pushed her more towards me, letting her know that I was enjoying the kiss.
And my heart rate picked up, hearing her call me baby turned me into a mush of mess. This was the first time she called me that, and don't I love that?
Pulling away, she rests her forehead against mine.
With that look on her face, I knew that I had to ask that question now. Be rejected or not, I just have to ask that damn question that has been keeping me up for ages.
"Can you be my girlfriend, buttercup?" I asked.
Then I slowly watched as her face turned into a glowing one.
"You asshole."
"Huh what?" I then felt confused about why she'd called me that.
For the love of God, I tried my very best to give her what she wanted and deserved.
Damn it.
"I thought you would never ask."
"What?" I asked, the obvious surprise in my face.
"I called you an asshole because we've been dating for six weeks now and I was beginning to think that you would never ask me that question." She rolled her eyes and pinched both of my cheeks.
"So you're my girlfriend now?" I asked her in disbelief.
She bit her lip like a shy schoolgirl.
"Come here and give me a kiss." She said, and she didn't have to say it twice.
Damn, what a wonderful life this is.
