[ Wyatt ] I put on the kettle and got out three cups. Both Rain and Luca were still sleeping, and they had been cuddled up together under the blanket the last time I checked on them. The sizzle coming from the pan alerted me that the bacon probably needed to be turned. I was grateful to see that although it looked a bit too crispy, it wasn’t burnt. I heard the toast pop from the toaster, and I hurriedly took out the toast and set it on the plate before I added another two pieces of bread. The constant sizzling reminded me that I was frying bacon and that I had to check on the scrambled eggs I had been busy with as well.
