Isla's POV
“ f*****g, leave me alone!” I scowled.
“We have been ordered by the Alpha to take proper care of you.” The woman said, dragging me through the Ravencross hall.
The ride down to Ravencross was a nightmare, I rode with Bastian, who didn't have the sense to offer me snacks so I was hungry all through. I thought it was all over until these men disguised as women seized me.
“ Let me go now!” I snarled, my eyes burnt with fury as I tried to shake off their grip from my arms but they were too freaking strong.
I felt my blood boil, thinking about how I wasn't welcomed with celebration instead with disgrace and the so-called husband that had sworn to protect me was nowhere to be found.
My chest heaved, staring at her with my bloodshot eyes while my whole body quivered but I tried to be reasonable, thinking about my father's words— a sacrifice.
“This is Ravencross and you must have the appropriate manners.” The oldest of the pack said, then she continued as they stripped me off my wedding attire, “ Today is your first night with the alpha and you must serve him.”
I snorted.
“ Serve him? Or kill him? Choose one.” I taunted them.
Smack.
Her palm met my face, it turned to the other side from the impact and my lips split open and blood gushed out.
“ No, don't destroy this pretty face of hers.” One of them said with a chuckle.
“ Her eyes still look so vicious, she must think that she's still in that coward pack of hers.” The oldest said, patting my face twice in a mocking manner then she gripped my chin, forcing my head up.
“ You are a f*****g slave here! Not a f*****g princess.” She snarled.
I spat on her face, just before she was about to drop a slap on my face, I grabbed her hands and used the other hand to give her two hard slaps. The crisp sound rang out in the bathroom, the others, their faces turned pale in shock.
They were about to start spitting rubbish when I grabbed her hair, pulling it tightly so that some strands were already on my hand as I said with a deadly tone, “ You must be mistaken. I'm a princess, a respect figure in both society and your f*****g Luna.”
I said with a snarl, “ I'm above you! You respect me not the other way.”
“Do you hear me? Am I understood?” I asked.
“Yes.” They said, their eyes held new light as they were more careful. They must have felt that I was a dainty little girl, their bad.
I had no desire to speak with them, it was draining so I just watched with a bored look as they added all the ointments into the bath water, washed me up and dressed me up provocatively.
They led me to the room, the bed was decorated with red roses and the ground had a decoration too while there were only red candles lit in the room. Finally, they left me alone with smiles, I didn't sit on the bed.
I swore that I would rather die than let Bastian touch me with his disgusting claws. I noticed that there was a knife on the table, I grabbed it, hiding it under my dress as I sat on the bed and waited.
He will die tonight.
The seconds ticked, I watched as the hours grew and Bastian didn't still come. I was growing tired, I snorted, “ Talking about manners but he's skipping our wedding night.”
I laid down on the bed, fatigue washing over as I fell asleep.
Footsteps.
I heard the door being pushed open and I sucked in my breath, peeking from the corner as I saw that he didn't even spare me a glance. He just pulled off his shirt, revealing his broad back with war marks all over it.
“This was the perfect moment.” I thought.
I moved fast, aiming at the center of his spine to render him useless but at the last second, he moved away, grabbing me by the arm and slamming me into the floor.
“ Ah!” I cried, my lips slammed into the floor, there was an immediate cut on my lips. I could taste the metallic iron on my tongue, I stuck my tongue out, licking it.
Then I moved my hand, pushing back as I used my muscle to use the blade to s***h him from upper arm to his lower arm. I felt the blood drip down, it trickled down as he let out a grunt.
He raised my hand, slamming me back against the floor as he let out a growl in my ear.
He bared his teeth at me, but that moment, I rolled over, pressing the knife against his neck as there was a little cut. He laughed, looking down at my hand with interest.
I smiled back at him, whispering, “ Say hi to death.”
In a split second, he took the knife from my hand, flipping me and pressing my face against the floor while the cold blade was pressed against my neck.
I let out a gasp.
I closed my eyes, I felt like I was the one about to meet death at the moment as the knife pressed harder against that spot. But I wasn't going to give him what he wanted, I wore a smile on my face, at least I would see my brother.
Then he leaned in, I felt the goosebumps against my skin as I started trembling underneath him. He had his lips against my ear, a soft chuckle.
His voice came out soft, ticklish, “ If you ever try this again, it would be your last day to breathe.”
And I felt his grip on my hand loosen, he stood up, straightened his clothes and gave me a look of disdain.
He pulled the door open and slammed it shut.
“ I'm not dead?” I said out loud.
