Chapter 3 (I Woke Up Rich)

266 Words
Darkness swallowed everything. No sound. No pain. No time. Then suddenly—light. White ceiling. Beeping machines. A hospital room. Naya’s eyes fluttered open slowly, her head heavy like it had been split open and glued back together. Voices filled the room instantly. “He’s awake!” “Call the doctor!” Naya tried to move, but something felt wrong. Her body felt heavier, stronger… unfamiliar. A woman rushed forward, tears in her eyes. “My son… thank God you’re alive.” Naya blinked. Son? Her throat felt dry as she tried to speak, but the voice that came out was deep. Male. The room froze for a second. Naya turned her head slowly toward the mirror on the wall. And her entire world collapsed. Cassian Blackwood’s face stared back at her. Same sharp jaw. Same cold eyes. Same powerful presence. Her breath stopped. “No…” she whispered. But it wasn’t her voice. It was his. The nurses panicked. “Sir, calm down!” “His memory might be affected!” But Naya wasn’t listening. She stumbled out of the bed and grabbed the mirror with shaking hands. “This isn’t me…” she whispered again and again. Then the door opened. A woman stepped inside. Elegant. Cold. Dangerous. She looked at him calmly. “Cassian.” Naya froze. “I’m glad you woke up,” the woman said. Then her voice lowered. “But if you’re pretending…” A faint smile. “I’ll kill you myself.” Naya swallowed hard. “Who are you?” The woman stepped closer. “I’m your fiancée.”
