Cassidy’s POV
His words, his tone and soft yet hardened eyes made everything so warm, fuzzy and hot to her. Her heart was racing and jumping at their proximity and the way he was staring deep into her eyes.
“I can’t take it anymore. Why…This is so f*****g funny.” He came closer and placed his hands on the wall behind her, effectively caging her in. “I thought I could ignore you. Thought I could make this fake, something to easily forget but I can’t when you… fuck.”
He pushed himself off and away from her, then backed her. Confusion started to replace every other emotion she had been feeling as she stared at his broad back.
“Eric?”
He sighed. “You know what? Let’s forget about what I said.”
It felt like her heart stopped beating and started generating pain that shot through her body.
