Cassidy’s POV After spending two hours outside the hall, she was ready to go back inside and face them. Looking at the pond before her one last time, she rose from the stone bench she had been sitting on and turned around only to flinch and scream softly from fear. There stood Eric, holding a bottle of water, his expression unreadable. She tensed, glaring at him as he approached with a small smile playing on his lips. “Here,” he said, handing the water to her. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you. Are you okay?” Cassidy rolled her eyes and turned away from him, facing the pond again. She heard the crunch of tiny pebbles beneath his shoes as he stood beside her, his presence heavy yet comforting. She had a lot to say to him but was finding it hard to do now that he was in her vicinity.
