Chapter 2 First Meeting

"We all feel once in our lifetime that we can conquer the world if we have that one person's support whom we think is the right one for us.That person can be anyone -family, friends or husband,wife.We spend our entire life making that person happy because we feel entitled to do so.

But what is more important is that we need to find the right person in our life rather than focusing on the person we assume to be right for us. Sometimes we need to change our priorities to make the right decision in life."

Orchid POV

The living room is full with people. For the first time in my life, I got to see these many people all together. Is there some occasion going on?

From the corner of my eyes I saw my brother sitting on the large sofa with someone.

Dad stepped down from the stairs with me following him closely. My heart beat went faster. This was all so new to me. My curious eyes roamed everywhere to take in all at once.

As soon as we reached the bottom, a handsome man came to my dad .I was standing behind Dad, so the man wouldn't have notice me yet.

I was curious to know who all these people were but at the same time it's getting onto my nerves.

They had a small talk while I admired all these fancy people. Dad suddenly moved and my curious eyes met with a pair of golden blue eyes. My gaze got stuck with his intense stare. It made me tremble slightly. Afraid to offend him, I broke the eye contact, not being able to hold it anymore. It felt like he could see through me.

Dad left us alone making my anxiety reach its peck. I wanted to stop him from leaving me alone with this unknown man but....

I was well aware of this man's gaze, burning hole to my head. I was too scared to say or do anything.I stared at my slippers like it's the most interesting thing in the world. Suddenly I felt like I was going to have a panic attack.

You can't blame me. What did you expect, for a girl who spend her whole life in a small room with only selected people, now suddenly facing some unknown people.

The man came near me and raised his hand above my head. I instantly flinched and closed my eyes. I waited for the blow to come but it never did . He gently stroked my head. For a second I forget to breathe.

"Orchid"

He called my name softly. My surprised gaze met with him again.

The intense look of his somewhat softened a bit but only for a fraction of the time. It was so shocking to me that he knew my name.

" You are beautiful my dear, just like your name."

His compliment made me shy and little nervous too. He chuckled seeing me blush. He withdrew his hand.

"I was waiting for you, Dear. But.... you definitely worth it. I can tell now why your father hid you from the world. An angel like you should be always protected. You're so..... Angelic."

"Thank you,...sir. "

I mummered, finally getting my voice back. I was still so confused.

"Oh don't be so formal.. I can bet, the brat father of yours didn't tell you anything about me. Let me introduce myself to you,....

I am Leonardo King, an old friend of your father. It's nice to meet you."

He winked, bringing his hand forwards to shake. I hesitated for a bit but shaked his hand with a small smile.I shouldn't be rude, right! He is nothing but good to me. And I have a feeling he won't hurt me.

"I am Angelana Orchid Blake, sir. Nice to meet you too."

"You are adorable dear. Friend?" Mr. King called out as he waited for my response

It was surprising that someone like his age wanted to be friends with me. But for me, It felt nice to think about having a friend, even though he was older than me.

"Friends."

My voice came out little but firm.

I try to give him a genuine smile this time.

He smiled too pulling my checks lightly which made me giggle. His aloof face now replacing with a gentle one. It made me relax a bit .

"You have an angelic smile, Friend."

He complimented, took my hand and leaded to the dining room.

"You have too , sir." I said with amusement.

"Sir, am I that old? And aren't we friends now?" Mr. King stoped walking then looked at me offended.

"S-sorry" I gulp nervously, terrified to say anything further. My eyes went back to the floor. He must have sense my discomfort.

"Relax, I am just joking, sweetie. Call me Leo. Now come let's eat something."

I let out a shaky breath. I always got anxious too easily. We went to the dining table. There were some people eating. As soon as they saw us their attention turned to us. They were giving me some curious glances but didn't ask anything.

We sat down and started to eat. Basically it's just me who was eating as Mr. king only piling food on my plate. He even peeled the shrimp for me.

I felt like having a sweet dream. So much care, adoration, this was so new to me. I felt thrilled. A little bit of happiness wouldn't kill right!

I happily took those shrimps. This was the first time someone ever cares for me like this. I was enjoying being with him. Even though he had a dominating aura, his warmth was making me feel safe. For a moment I forget all my miseries and only focused on this moment.Today definitely is the day for all the new and first thing for my life.

Leonardo King POV

Meeting Orchid today was the best decision I had made in this recent time so far.This kid was really something. I had a feeling she has a long way to run. And she would ace everything. She is a fighter, I could tell it.

I have always enjoyed it when people get terrified of me. But for the first time in my life , I didn't like how my presence made Orchid scared. I knew it's not just my dominating aura that made her scared but the other reasons making my blood boil. Why would he do something like this.

"Sigh"

We talked about everything ,her career, her liking , disliking, and also hobbies.Never did she once complain about her father or her life. She was just so full of life. Taking everything so positively. How could someone be so humble and kind. Anthony was lucky to have her but that bastard didn't acknowledge it. I didn't know what's wrong with him. I still haven't found his reasons to change drastically.

Sigh...

I was quite impressed by her intelligence. At the age of 13, she's already 2 peers ahead in her school. Not just her knowledge in technology, her designing sense is quite impressive.

I must say, I was enjoying her company. Her sense of humour, docile & forgiving nature, her innocence, lovable, charismatic personnel, everything was showing how pure her soul was. I think I had made the right decision for both of them. Just one last year then everything would be in their right places.

With Angelana, I didn't realize how time passes quickly. My secretary walked to me suddenly ruining our beautiful time. It must be urgent unless he won't dare to interrupt us like this.

He didn't take much time, left quickly after handing the news. My blood boiled to hear the news. How dare they? Those bastard will pay for their little game, they have pulled. I got up the chair hurriedly. I had to leave. In my rage and hurry I forgot about Orchid.

"Mr. King "

Orchid timid voice stopped me . It wouldn't take a stupid to notice how afraid she was to ask or say anything after seeing my reaction.

" Sigh.. I am sorry Orchid but I need to go now. It's urgent. It's really lovely meeting you. Take care of yourself, okay?" I said in hurry. As much as I wanted to spend time with her, I didn't want those bastard to escape.

"It's okay. But everything is fine, right?" Orchid's soft voice was full of concern.

" Yes everything is fine, sweetie and don't worry , I will handle everything and we will meet again soon." I assured her

Orchid's concerned eyes were so much like her....

"Stay safe and thank you for today. I will really miss you". Orchid's voice snapped me out of my daze.

She suddenly hugged me, taking me off guard. I quickly hugged her back then kissed her head.

"I will miss you too sweetie and take care of yourself too." I said as I pulled away.

She nodded like a obedient kid then gave me her angelic smile. I got to see her cute dimples. I patted her head and hurried to get to the business. I didn't have much time. Someone wanted their heads on their plate....And I would be more than happy to do it....
