Chapter 12 Got Scared

Orchid didn't come for another 20 minutes. Now Olivia was getting worried. Orchid always took care of everyone but when it cane to her, she was the most reluctant person ever.

"What took you so long ? " Olivia asked as soon as Orchid sat on the car. While One of the bodyguards started driving.

"Nothing just some advice from Dr. Robert to take care of you." Orchid said adjusting her seatbelt along with Olivia.

Olivia knew Orchid was hiding something from her. Orchid always been so secretive about her. "Oh really then what happened to your hand?"

Olivia's question made Orchid halt.

(Flashback)

Taking deep breath, Orchid knocked on Dr. Robert's door.

"Come in"

Orchid entered the room. "Dr Robert.."

"Sit down Orchid. Let me check your hand first." Dr. Robert put down the papers.

"I don't need it . I already..."

"Keep quiet. Do you know how dangerous this is for you, You simply don't care, Right?."He took off the bandage.

" You shouldn't bleed or have any infection Orchid. Why are you always so careless about yourself ." Dr Robert scolded, Orchid just looked at her shoes. "And You aren't taking your medicine, ha?"

Sighing Dr. Robert continued "You know, we still can start your treatment , you still have chances, we can.."

"I don't want it and I am fine." Orchid's firm voice cut him off.

"I know you are worried about me but trust me I am really fine and I know what I am doing. I don't want to go through the same discussion again. Please, Dr. Robert". Orchid pleaded this time. She knew, he meant well for her, always has been.

"Fine, you call this fine. Look at you, you lost so much weight in these few months, you are so weak and now your hand. See! it got infected. Why are you doing this to yourself?" Dr. Robert half yelled, losing his composure.

He didn't understand why this girl wass so stubborn. Did she love punishing herself? She was worried sick for everyone but When it came to her, she became so careless. When would she understand, hurting herself will not bring her peace.

"I am sorry, Dr. Robert but I made my decision. Can we stop talking about it over again?"

She knew Dr Robert really cares for her. He was best friend of Nana. Dr. Robert was there when Nana saved her that night. They gave shelter to her, treated her, took care of her. She was lucky to them as godfather.

Dr Robert shaked his head. He well aware that how stubborn this girl could be.

"Here take this medicine and please eat them. You will feel better and if possible come tomorrow to get some supplements."

Dr. Robert hand over some medicine to her.. He knew their discussion always end up like this but he won't stop convincing her.

"Thank you." Orchid took the medicine, feeling overwhelmed.

"Silly girl, take care of yourself or else your Nana will beat my ass off when I meet him in heaven."

Dr Robert patted Orchid's head.

"I will "

Present:

“Oriii...! Are you listening to me?" Olivia's voice brought her to present.

"I accidentally broke a glass and cut my hand?" Orchid shrugged, avoiding Olivia's eyes. She does this avoiding thing whenever she is not comfortable to say anything.

Olivia raised an eye brow. She didn't get the chance to ask it earlier, that didn't meant she didn't notice. She was pretty shaken up from the encounter. Fortunately she couldn't let Rob win by living in an egg shell.

"Don't lie to me, Ori? I know you very well to tell that when you are lying .You are hiding something from me? So tell me what it is?" Olivia insisted.

"There's nothing to hide, Oli . Everything is fine , stop worrying and are we playing 20 questions? but I haven't asked you a question, it's not fair."

Orchid complaint trying to change the topic. She knew Oli was not just asking about her hand but Mr. Rob or might be something else.

"Orchid.." Olivia hissed in frustration.

Orchid signed. Olivia wouldn't stay still until she gave her any answers.

"Ok, don't need to be so worked up. I might have just broke his leg and hit him a little bit. But he deserves it , No he deserves more than that and don't worry He'll not think about any girl ever." Orchid said flatly.

"You did what?" Olivia's eyes widen. Anxiety grew within her one more time. "You are crazy, what if he hurts you too." Olivia didn't need to ask more cause she knew Orchid must have done worse than she was telling.

"Oh please, that scumbag is not even in the state to sleep properly and you are thinking about him hurting me, he'll need a second life for that" Orchid scoffed as if it was normal.

"What do you mean? " This girl really scared Olivia sometimes.

You couldn't even imagine how dangerous Orchid could be when it came to them. Olivia witnessed it one time when her ex cheated on her and Orchid beat the s**t out of the poor boy.

She still remember, if not the police came at the right time she would have killed him. Shivers ran through Olivia, just to think about it.

"I meant nothing. Now be a good girl and don't question anymore. Give your pretty head a rest. Besides we had a lot to explain to Zain. That little fella can be noisy sometimes." Orchid ended it not wanting to elaborate more.

Olivia frowned. She completely forget about her brother. "Yeah he must be worried about me."

She didn't pester Orchid anymore.. She will not tell her anyway. Olivia put her head on the back seat, relax a bit.

"Don't worry. I got your back. We'll handle him, now rest, please" Orchid squeezed her hand giving Olivia some comfort.

"Hmm" Olivia gaver her a small smile. Sleep slowly gripped her.

Olivia POV:

"Oli.. Oli?." Orchid tapped my shoulder.

"What happened ?" I rubbed my eyes. I must have fallen asleep.

"We are home." Orchid helped me to get out of the car. The bodyguards helped us to get in my home.

"Where is sister Oli, Granny." Zain's loud voice was echoing in the hall room.

"I told you she is on her way with Orchid. Why don't you just sit down and eat your breakfast sweetie." Granny's defeated voice could be heard of.

"No , I will eat with mumsi only. She didn't meet me last night before bed. She never goes anywhere without telling me. She also didn't open our flower shop today"

Zain ranted, running in the hall room.

His hair was messy, still wearing his pajamas.

"Calm down sweetie. She will come soon. Please sit down, you know, Granny can't run behind you anymore, I am getting old honey." Granny tried to calm him down but failed.

Zain never acted like this. Orchid slowly wheeled me toward them. He hasn't notice me yet.

"No I want mumsi. Does she not want me anymore like mom and dad, am I being a burden to her, why her phone is switched off.

Why did she leave me without telling me. I swear I'll be a good boy Granny, I wouldn't trouble her , I will eat lots of veggies and won't trouble her to tell me night time stories. I - I ...."

Zain started crying. My heart clinched. What was he even thinking?

"You will never be a burden to me , Zain" My voice got their attention. Granny sighed in relief. She must be so tired from all this.

"Oliiii." Zain run into my arms hugging me tightly. I took him in my lap.

" Where did you go? ..'.Hiccup'.. I 'hiccup' thought you left me and ... 'hiccup' and...."

Zain sobbed loudly, tears rolling down his face, he looked so small. What happened to my little brother.

I wiped his tears. I couldn't see him like this. "I was with Ori , buddy. And why do you think I will leave you huh?

I love you so much. How can I not want my big bro in my life. ." I softly said rubbing his back.

"I went to your r-oom after w-waking up you were n-ot there .

I- I then went to our flower shop but you were not there either.

I couldn't find granny. I I looked for you everywhere but didn't find you. I got scared. I-I thought you left me." Zain said buring his face to my neck.

I held him close to me. I kissed his head.

" You are my life buddy. I can leave everyone but not you."

"Where did you go? Angel was with me last night. You weren't home last night, I know "

Zain raised his head little enough to look at me. His hand was tightly hugging me. As if I would disappear, if he left me.

I caressed his tear stained face. "I was in the hospital." I told him the truth. His eyes got wide. He literally jumps off my lap.

"You were at the hospital, why?

And Why are you in wheelchair?

How did you get injured, Mumsi Are you alright. I am sorry, I didn't notice it."

Zain inspected me asking so many questions.

He was always like this. So mature. That's why I didn't think, he would react like this. I was sure, Ori also didn't expect this.

"Slow down buddy I am fine " I smiled to ensure him, but he was still not convinced, looking at me carefully.

"But how did you get hurt, you were fine before I went to school yesterday?"

His big eyes filled with so much concern. How I was this lucky to have him in my life.

"I - I ... " I run out of words. How can I explain this to him?

"Sweet pie , your sister is fine, she fractured her leg yesterday that's why she was in hospital, you couldn't meet her last night as you fell asleep in the car." Orchid came out for my rescue.

I sighed in relief.

"I am sorry Mumsi, I was worried about you" Zain hugged me again but this time carefully ,not to hurt me.

"I know buddy, no more crying ok and don't ever think that you are a burden to me ,you are not. Now let's go eat your breakfast." I kissed his cheeks. He finally relaxed, nodded his head in agreement.

"I am sorry Granny , I troubled you." Zain apologised, going to her.

Grandma pulled him into a hug. "It's fine, my dear. Now come and eat your breakfast. I know you are hungry"

This boy surely knows how to win people's hearts.

"Now you get your Mumsi back you forget about me huh?"

"I will not talk to you then." Orchid scoffed faking angry at him.

"How can I forget my Angel." Zain ran to hugged her.

We all burst into laughing.

We have our breakfast together. Orchid introduced the lady bodyguards Mina and Rita to Granny and Zain.

Zain asked a lot of questions but everyone enjoyed it and we had a good time. Mina and Rita were also friendly, so they quickly got along with Zain and granny.

Orchid sent me to my room to get some rest and spend some time with Zain and others.

In the evening Orchid left for her home. I insisted her to stay but as usual, she didn't listen.

I don't know what happened to this girl. She is behaving weird for few weeks. It's like I am seeing the old Orchid when we first met.

Please God help her.
