Chapter 18 Every time a convoy arrived; Pasha would rush to see if Marah was in charge. He was about to give up hope. Three weeks later, there she was, waving to him. It was the start of a tentative courtship, almost old-fashioned in its way. Over two more convoy trips, they both knew they were feeling a closeness. This last convoy provided more time together. “I will be here for at least three weeks,” she told Pasha. “We will evacuate the entire encampment then.
