[Christmas]
The driver stopped me here in front of this huge building that precisely that the address in the card. I can't say anything but to feel amaze on how can he manage this Earl Grey. He still young at his features but already running a company. Duke is so damn lucky that he don't have to suffer in finding money.
“Hey!”
My attention was caught when the security guard standing at the entrance shouted. He is walking now towards me and I started to panic a little. What did I do?
“This is not a waiting area,” he said.
“Ah-ahm, actually, I ain't waiting.” I gripped my lower lip. “I am here to see Duke. Is he here?” I asked.
His brow arched for a second like a damn woman. “Do you have an appointment to him?”
“A-appointment?” I asked stupidly.
“Yeah, appointment.”
“I don't have an app–”
“Then you may leave. No appointment means you can't see our boss,” he said and turn his back on me.
“Wa-wait!” I blocked his way. “But I have this.” I show him the card. “He gave it to me yesterday and he told me if I want to see him, I can go here.”
He grimaced. “I said, no appointment you can't see our boss. Besides, everyone has that card. You are not the only one.” He said and passed me.
“What the f**k?” I mouthed and block again his way. “Just let me inside to see him. He really gave this to me yesterday!”
“What is happening here?” a voice of woman suddenly appeared at my back.
I turn myself to see her and I suddenly feel ashame for myself in her features. She has this short blonde hair cut and she is so skinny at her pencil skirt matching with 5 inch of high heels. She is so tall and I think I'm only at her shoulder.
“This woman wants to come inside but doesn't have any appointment,” answered of the security guard. I want to beat him! Hmp!
The woman look at me deeply with her misty grey eyes. “Hello, I am Cheena, the secretary of Sir Grey. May I know your name and what are you doing here?” She asked casually.
“I am Christmas Antebellum and I am here to see Duke but this security guard is keep on asking me an appointment.” I glared at him where he standing. “I don't have any of it because he told me I can come here. He just gave me this yesterday.” I show her the card.
“Okay? You should calm down, Ms. Antebellum. Come with me inside and let see if you really saying the truth,” she said that made me smile, “I will handle her.” she said at the security guard.
“Okay, ma'am,” he answered and go back where he standing earlier.
“Come with me, please,” she said and lead the way inside the building.
I am at her back, following every steps we take in the tiles floor here inside. It was really silent here and you can't hear anything but the sounds of the heels of this woman in front me. The ladies in the counter as we got inside greeted me and I just replied a smile at them. It seems like I am a VIP here at the company. Oh, dream on, Christmas!
“May I know what is your relationship to Sir Grey?” she asked at my side.
We are now here inside at the elevator, heading towards the floor where Duke's office is. I am still holding the food I order and I'm glad it is still hot.
“I'm his friend,” I answered and I don't know if it's really the right answer at her question.
She chuckled. “Really? Where did you meet Sir Grey, Ms. Antebellum?”
“In the laundry shop.”
“In the laundry shop? Seems like a movie, huh?” she said sounded sarcastic, “Don't tell me you were having both your laundry there and one of you suddenly approach each other, am I right?”
“No.” I grimaced. “I am a laundry girl and he asked me to help his laundry.” I answered and suddenly feel ashame.
Ting!
Before she could talk again, the elevator's door finally open and I take the first step outside. I simply heaved a sigh and pretend I didn't got offended at our conversation. We are now here at the floor where Duke's office. There are only three room designated here in the floor and only the two of us are here outside.
“This is where the meetings being held and the last room is Sir Grey's office. That is why there is no one here,” Cheena suddenly explained at my side seems she just read my thoughts.
“Okay,” I only answered and follow her again, heading at the last room.
“Hoping you are really saying the truth b***h,” she said in the lower of her voice and that's enough for me to hear it, I thought she was nice but I'm wrong! “You wait over here.”
“Okay.”
Knock! Knock!
Cheena knocked twice at the beige carved door of Duke's office before she steps inside. I left here standing, waiting for her to come back.
[DUKE]
Knock! Knock!
My thoughts had been interrupted when a knock filled my office. As I expected, it was Cheena, my secretary who walked directly in front of me. I am now sitting at my swivel chair, placing my feet in the top of my desk. I'm definitely not in the mood to read all the papers I set aside.
“Yes?” I asked, raising my brow to her.
“Sir Grey, a woman is looking for you and she is claiming one of your friend,” she answered in a duh tone, “Are you expecting someone today, Sir Grey? Because this woman doesn't have any appointment to you.”
My forehead knotted, thinking who is the woman she pertaining of. I shrugged my shoulder. “I don't know. I am not expe–”
“I knew it! That b***h is a story maker. She even told me that you two met in the laundry shop–”
“What did you say? Laundry shop?” I quickly take off my feet on the desk.
She nodded. “Yes, Sir Grey that is what she said to–”
Before Cheena could continue what she is saying, I run off out on my office. I heard my secretary call me but I just ignored her. As I open the door, I suddenly stop seeing the woman who bothering my thoughts last night.
“You came to see me,” I said almost whispered, smiling at her.
“Y-yeah.” She averted her look somewhere.
“Sir Grey, that is the woman I am telling you!” Cheena showed up in our side.
“It's okay. You get us something to eat,” I ordered.
“You don't have to do that,” Christmas said that made my forehead knotted, “I-I mean I brought you food. I ordered this at Kres Chophouse before I headed here.” she continued.
“Okay, then let's eat it together.” I held her hand and walk back inside my office. I faced back at Cheena who left alone standing in the doorway. “Order us an Espresso.”
Cheena nodded not in herself. “Y-yes, Sir Grey.” She said and close the door as she leaves.
“Have a seat, Christmas.” I released her hand and we take the long couch together. “I didn't know that you are going to come here.”
“I didn't know also that I will come here.” She bited the lower of her kissable lips.
I chuckled. “I'm really glad that you are here, Christmas.” I am trying to see her whole face but her hair covering the view that I want to see. “So, what did you brought for our lunch?” I asked looking at the take out bag she is still holding.
“Ahh, yeah, I don't know if you are going to like–”
“I will love it. I'm going to eat it don't worry,” I cut her off.
“Okay.” She placed the take out bag at the table in front us and show me what it is in the inside. “I brought you the special menu of the Kres Chophouse which exactly the Yellowfin Tuna and Duo of Duck.”
“Hahaha! It's funny.”
“Huh? What is funny?” She looked at me confuse.
“Because you definitely brought me my favorite! How come that you knew it, huh?”
“Ahm, I-I really don't know that this was your favorite. I just saw this in the menu and I bought it.” The way she explain made her cute. It seen in her that she is not comfortable in our atmosphere. So cute!
“Okay, okay, let's start to eat this before it gets cold.”
Christmas and I start eating what she brought and I'm really happy that I am having lunch with her. Though she seems really a silent person, I'm still enjoying the moment. It's already enough for me to hear her laugh while listening on what telling her. I know she still finds uncomfortable our situation and I will make his comfortable sooner. I really badly want to know her more. She keeps on running on my mind!
