The reports on my laptop in front of me detailed Luke Goelet’s movements over the past few weeks – a carefully curated tapestry of dinners at exclusive restaurants, meetings with influential figures, and late nights at Rome’s most fashionable clubs. Nothing overtly suspicious, nothing that would raise a red flag to the untrained eye. But I knew better than to be lulled into a false sense of security. Luke was a predator, a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and I had no doubt he was planning something. His sister’s sudden appearance in Rome, coupled with Sofia and Aurora’s disappearance, was too much of a coincidence.
