Hi, Alterums!

Almost all the chapters are unedited, and I had a drastic changed in my plot, so I have to re-write almost every part to avoid confusions, and so. I'm editing the whole book, so events, characters, even the smallest part will be edited. Our eyes met again, the two different kind of darkness melted into one as our faces moved closer to each other for a brief kiss.

It was painful, parang hangin lang na dumampi ang labi n'ya sa akin. I felt his tear on my cheek as he kissed me lovingly for the last time.

My eyes remained closed when I felt him pulling away and when I opened it again, I saw his back walking away and how he vanished in the dark.

That's the last time I saw him.

"Ma'am Winter! Gising na at pinapatawag ka ni Sir!" Naiinis na tinakpan ko ang mukha para hindi marinig ang boses ni Ate Linda pero hinila n'ya ang unan sa mukha ko at muling nagsalita.

"Ma'am!"

"Masakit ang ulo ko, Ate Linda." I groaned.

"Ayan kasi, inom-inom, mag lasing-lasing tapos rereklamo masakit ulo!" Pagalit pa n'ya kaya tumawa lang ako at umiling.

"Bakit ba kasi?" I asked, opening my eye.

"Papakilala raw sa'yo ni Senator ang bodyguard mo." Aniya at mabilis akong napabalikwas sa higaan ko at nanlaki ang mata.

"H-Huh?"

"Kapag lasing ba, Ma'am, nagiging bingi?" Hagikhik pa n'ya. "Juk lang, Ma'am. Papakilala ka ni Senator sa bodyguard mo."

My heart raced, tila nabuhayan nang sabihin n'ya iyon at mabilis na hinablot ang roba at tumitig sa salamin.

Inayos ko ang sabog na buhok at tinanggal ang muta. I opened my mouth to smell my breath pero napangiwi nang amoy alak kaya tumakbo ako sa CR para mabilis na magtoothbrush.

I was giddy as I ran on the stairs with my robe on to see my bodyguard.

"Nasaan na si Winter?" I heard my father asked.

"Pababa na Senator! Sir War!" Ani nito at mas nagpanting ang tenga ko.

My heart raced like crazy, sa pagbaba ko ay dali-dali akong nagtungo kay Daddy na ngumuso nang makita ako.

"Naglasing ka nanaman, Winter?" Pagalit n'ya.

"Nasaan ang bodyguard?" I asked.

Ngumuso s'ya, tumango at sumigaw.

"Linda, patawag si War." Aniya at nang marinig ko ang yapak sa likuran ko ay nagwala ang puso ko.

I was excited at saktong paglingon ko sa likuran ay s'ya ring pagsasalita ni Daddy.

"Winter, meet Warren. Your new bodyguard." He said. My shoulders fell.

"Tuyot na..." Nag-angat ako ng tingin at ngumuso. "Tuyot na 'yung halaman mo dito, Thornie."

I saw Tita Zidney staring at the plants near the window.

"I forgot planting it, queen. Sorry." I saw Doc smiled and bit his lip.

"Masyado ka kasing busy, Doc, eh." I commented and smiled.

Napatingin s'ya sa akin, I heard him chuckled and shook his head.

"Kinda, I got a few adjustments for the new hospital in the province. It was tiring, hindi na nga kami minsan nakakapagbonding ng reyna ko." Ani Doc at sumulyap sa asawa n'yang may dala na ngayong tabo at dahan-dahang naglalakad patungo sa mga halaman.

"And she's actually wearing heels while watering the plants," I commented and laughed.

Doc chuckled too, extending his hand to give me the food he's been eating na kaagad ko ring inabot at kumuha.

"Baby, careful with the heels." I heard him saying.

Biglang natapilok si Tita Zid, nanlaki ang mata ko at nakita kong napatayo si Doc pero hindi pa man nakakalapit ay mabilis na nakaayos si Tita Zid at ngumisi.

"I'm good," She chuckled and glanced at us. "Sorry po."

"Careful," Ani Doc at lumapit na asawa.

I watched them silently as they talk, nakita kong may binulong si Doc kay Tita bago kunin ang tabo at s'ya na ang lumapit sa halaman.

Tita Zid then smiled sweetly when she saw me and walked towards me. Nang maupo s'ya ay bigla s'yang yumakap sa akin kaya ngumiti ako at niyakap s'ya pabalik.

"Tita, thank you for coming." Masayang sabi ko.

"No worries, Winter." She smiled at me. "Thorn told me you want to see me so I went here."

"Hindi ka ba busy?" I asked her.

"Not really," Umiling s'ya. "I was bored in my office anyway, my children is out too. 'Yung tatlo busy sa trabaho, si Clyte naman ay kung saang lupalop nanaman."

"Oh, why? Work?"

"Yeah," She said. "She's being weird too, ayaw pumunta sa reunion ng buong pamilya at out of town palagi, parang umiiwas."

"Sa'yo?" My brow raised.

"Don't think so," Umiling s'ya. "She's always sweet to us, minsan medyo malayo nga lang, usually when we're with my brothers and the whole family."

"Hindi po kaya may tampuhan sa magpipinsan?" I said at nakita kong natigilan s'ya at napasulyap sa asawa n'yang napatingin rin sa amin.

"Oh..." She murmured. "And I guess she's been avoiding Chiel!"

"Chiel?" I asked curiously.

"Her cousin, you know Alchiel Sandejas?" She asked me.

Napaisip naman ako at umawang ang labi ko nang may matanto.

"T-The lawyer? Pamangkin n'yo po?" Gulat kong sabi.

"Yes, anak ni Kuya Iñigo." Aniya at mukhang napaisip. "Baka nag-away nanaman ang dalawang 'yun," She sighed and called her husband.

"Thornie, let's talk to Clyte later, ayokong hindi sila nagpapansinan ng mga pinsan n'ya." Aniya at tumango si Doc at lumapit sa amin.

Hindi na ako nag-usisa, nakita kong napapaisip ni Tita Zid pero maya-maya'y bumaling sa akin at ngumiti.

"Sorry for that, Win. Ano nga ulit ang gusto mong sabihin sa'kin?" She asked and smiled.

"No worries, Tita. I just want to ask some things..." I said.

"Go, ask me away." Hinaplos n'ya ang buhok ko. "Naaalala ko talaga palagi sa'yo si Scira."

"Oh, the youngest one?" I said.

"The third one," Tumawa si Tita at sumulyap sa asawa. "And my old self."

I saw Doc Thorn smiling there, just staring at us. Nahuli ko pang kumislap ang mata n'ya habang nakatitig sa asawa.

"Uhm, diba po, ilang buwan na rin akong nagte-therapy?" I said at nakita kong tumango si Tita at ngumiti.

"Yes and you're doing great! Thorn's been telling me how great you are. You are strong, Win." Masayang sabi n'ya.

"Thank you po," Maluwag akong ngumiti at sumulyap kay Doc bago ngumiti rin. He nodded at me, looking happy.

"And I think I am, nababawasan na rin po ang masamang panaginip ko. Actually, I am not having any bad dreams for the past weeks, medyo kaya ko na rin po ng madilim tho, not really that dark. Kahit medyo dim kaya ko na." I said proudly.

I saw Tita Zid smiling widely at me as she nod her head, hinawi n'ya ang buhok ko.

"You are doing great, Win. I know you can overcome your fear, you can surpass every challenges given to you because you're strong."

"And thank you so much po, Doc..." I stared briefly at my psychiatrist. "And Tita, you two are such a big help to me, I can freely confide my feelings and you helped me a lot."

"We really didn't do that much," Doc commented and smiled at me. "You made it yourself, you are starting to overcome your trauma because you are strong, remember what I told you? You can do it. You are stronger than you think, hija."

"Thank you po..." I smiled happily. "Tsaka sobrang thankful din ako sa'yo, Tita, kasi everytime na gusto kitang kausapin nandyan ka palagi.

Okay lang din sa'yo na minsan iistorbohin ka namin ni Doc para sa session."

Natawa ang mag-asawa at nakita kong ngumisi si Tita.

"Ayos lang, ikaw pa ba?" She chuckled. "And syempre, pagkatapos ng therapy mo, may session din kami." Bungisngis n'ya.

Napakurap ako, nakita kong naubo si Doc sa gilid at tumayo habang tinatakpan ang bibig n'ya at humagikhik si Tita at sumulyap sa akin.

"Charot lang, Win." Tawa n'ya at sumulyap sa pantry kung saan nagtungo ang asawa. "Namumula na si tanda."

Natawa na rin ako sa kanya.

"You're such a bully, Tita." I commented and laughed. "Hindi naman matanda si Doc, gwapo pa nga rin."

"Diba?" Bumilog ang bibig n'ya. "Ang sarap-sarap pa palagi, nakakainis."

Natawa ako at nag-apir kaming dalawa nang lumabas si Doc sa pantry na nakanguso na at namumula nga ang tenga.

"Zid..." Doc warned and nakita kong ngumisi si Tita at nagpeace sign.

"Love you," Tita winked at him before looking at me.

"Let me guess, Win, is that a boy problem you got?"

"Yes po," Ngumuso ako.

"Should I leave you first, ladies?" Nakita kong lumapit si Doc.

"Uhm," I cleared my throat, hindi na sana papaalisin si Doc pero ikinumpas ni Tita ang kamay sa asawa.

"Yes, shoo away ka muna, hari ko. Mamaya na tayo magsession, girls talk 'to."

Tito blinked rapidly at his wife, akmang aalma nanaman sa lumalabas sa bibig ng asawa pero napasinghap nalang at humalik sa pisngi ni Tita Zid at ginulo ang buhok ko bago lumabas.

"I'm all ears, Win." She smiled at me.

"There's this man, Tita." I sighed. "He was my bodyguard, well, ang alam ko, my father hired him to protect me against our enemies. Nung una, of course he wasn't noticing me that much but when I first saw him, I knew I like him."

"Bodyguard? Warren?" Bulong n'ya at nanlaki ang mata ko at umiling.

"N-No, not Warren. I mean, the previous bodyguard before him." I said.

"Oh, okay. Hindi ko maalala kung nakita ko na." Aniya.

"Guess not?" I said, opening my phone and showed her Warrion's photo that I snapped in the island.

Nakita kong napatitig s'ya sa phone, then slowly, her forehead creased at napaayos ng upo.

"I saw him!" Aniya at miski ako ay nagulat.

"P-Po?"

"Yes! I do." Napaisip si Tita. "Just earlier, before I entered this hospital. I saw him, talking to Warren."

Kumalabog ang puso ko at napakurap.

"T-Talaga?" I murmured.

"Yes...but I'm not sure." Ngumuso s'ya. "Pero parang eh, I don't want you to assume, Win, baka nag-iimagine lang ako."

"B-Baka nga, Tita." I cleared my throat. "I-I mean...why would Warrion go here? After I pushed him away?"

"Why? You pushed him away?" Gulat n'yang sabi.

I sighed, kumuyom ang kamay ko at sumulyap sa kanya.

"It...turns out, I knew him from the past, Tita. He was my boyfriend."

"God," She uttered. "Warrion is your boyfriend? I mean, kasama s'ya sa nakalimutan mong ala-ala?"

"Yes po," I sighed. "He found an opportunity to protect me kaya naging bodyguard s'ya, he denied knowing me at first. I also did mention to him how much my sister's death pained me and I s-said..." My voice broke.

"Whoever is the reason why my sister and I went to volunteer in Mindanao, I woudn't want to meet him again for it will only bring bad memories back." Mahinang sabi ko.

"And...he's the reason?"

Marahan akong tumango at hinawi ang nalaglag na luha sa mga mata ko. "Y-Yes, he's a soldier and he'll go to Mindanao for a mission, m-magtatagal s'ya kaya nasaktan ako at nagpumilit na pumunta. I dragged my sister with me...and like what happened, we became hostage and she got killed.

"Sinarado ko ang utak ko, Tita. I blamed him, nung nalaman kong s'ya ang pinunta ko sa Mindanao, naghanap ako ng sisisihin at s'ya ang sinisi ko." I whispered.

"Win..." Tita slowly pulled me for a hug.

"T-Turns out...he's been blaming himself too, he said he's too afraid to tell me the truth about us because it might trigger my trauma, n-natatakot s'yang umamin kasi ayaw na n'yang mabigong iligtas ako and after what I've s-said...mas sinisi n'ya ang sarili n'ya. Then, he left... He left because I blamed him, all he wanna do is to save me, to love me silently but I put all the blame to him. Gusto kong bawasan ang guilt ko pero s'ya ang natulak ko palayo." I murmured and cried.

She hugged me tight, I heard her large intake of breath and caressed my back.

"It is no one's fault, Win." Marahang sabi n'ya. "All you wanna do is to see him, all Summer wanna do is to come with you to protect you and she did, right? She risked her life to protect you. Atsaka si Warrion, he shoudn't blame himself because I can feel that he's trying his best to protect you."

"Y-Yes... And I really wanna apologize for everything, g-gusto ko s'yang makita ulit. I keep on blaming myself, I keep on blaming him."

"Summer loves you," Ani Tita. "Thorn also told you that, right? Ginawa iyon ng ate kasi mahal ka n'ya, kahit ako, Win, if something happened to my children, to my king or family, I would trade my life for theirs."

"Walang may gusto sa nangyari, hija." Lumayo s'ya ng bahagya at
