Chapter SevenLyla picks up a job the very next day and is kept so busy that the incident is put on a backburner. Jackson doesn't call her and she doesn't know if the man is ignoring her or if he simply felt that she would like some space. Either way, she's glad that he has the good grace to at least pay her for the job she's done. She has a lot to think about that she would rather not recall at all. She wants to do exactly what she told Jackson she would do, pretend none of it happened. It would be easier to if she didn't see the image every time she closes her eyes.
