“What do you mean you own the whole building?” Philip asked.
“What do you mean by what do I mean? I own the building,” Lina chuckled, seeing his shocked expression.
“Since when!?”
“Umm … A little over a year now, I think,” Lina answered, unsure of how long ago she purchased the deed.
“So, wait, are you telling me that all of the tenants pay you!?”
“Yup.”
“Do they know that?”
“Nope. And they’re not going to,” Lina said in quick succession as she pointed her finger at him, indicating that he needed to keep it a secret.
“If they don’t know, then how did you think that I knew?” Philip asked.
“I could have sworn I told you.”
“No. I would remember a fact that big,” Philip said incredulously.
