chapter 08

Finally... The first day of the academic period at university was beginning. Crystal was standing in front of the mirror in her room, after preparing to go to campus. She put a little lipstick on her lips to make her appearance look fresh. She rubbed her ponytail and looked at her appearance in the mirror once again before leaving her room, ready to go. She walked to the workshop through the connecting door to get her bike and ride it. She didn't know in the workshop there was a pair of man's eyes that were watching her so intensely. They were Marco's eyes. He saw her more beautiful than the night he had met her for the first time. He saw her so gorgeous in her simple appearance. He didn't want to lose his chance to make her be his. He didn't want another man to catch her before him. He was sure a lot of men would fall in love with her if they knew her. "Is she your daughter?" Marco asked Freddy. "Yes, she's my daughter. Why?" Freddy nodded his head after he glanced at his daughter to make sure what Marco meant was his daughter, Crystal. "May your daughter be mine?" Marco really didn't want to lose his chance. "What do you mean?" Freddy made wrinkles between his eyebrows, he was wondering about the words that came out from the man who was standing in front of him. They were talking about engines a few seconds ago and then suddenly they were talking about his daughter. "I want to marry her." Marco really didn't want to lose her. He pushed himself to his limit. He bet his fate on getting her. "Trang" A monkey wrench hit the workshop floor. Many eyes were looking at the sound source and then they returned to their activity again after they knew it wasn't a serious thing. Mars was lucky because the monkey wrench didn't hit his foot. He had dropped it. Suddenly, he felt his strong muscles were becoming weak, no power in them anymore after hearing a man wanted his lovely girl and that man was so serious. Marry?! Yup! Mars didn't miss hearing. Marco wanted to marry Crystal. Mars felt his chest burning, but he couldn't do anything. He bended his body to get the monkey wrench on the floor, but he really lost his power. He got it after his second try to grab it. He walked to the office while holding the monkey wrench in his hand. He wanted to hide for a moment. He didn't want anybody else to see his body's reaction and would notice his feelings. He couldn't handle it. He shocked! He just got a big smack and he had no more power to get more. He didn't want to hear their conversation anymore, he didn't want to hear Freddy's answer. He was standing in the office, but he felt that place wasn't enough to hide for several moments. He continued his steps to the connecting door and opened it. He saw Crystal's mother in the kitchen. "May I have coffee..." He said to Diana when she saw him with an odd gaze. It was so random that Mars was standing in the dining room at that time while holding a monkey wrench in his hand. "Okay..." She was tilting her head, even though she felt weird about him, she didn't reject to give him coffee. "Are you okay? Did you have breakfast?" She asked him while giving him a cup of coffee. She was sure that he wasn't in good condition. "Yes, I'm okay. Thanks." He said to her while seeing the cup in front of him that Diana had just given him. Actually, he didn't need coffee at that time. It was just an excuse to make his condition not too awkward. He was so mad. His mind was in a war, so many things wanted to jump out of his mind through his mouth. Many questions and denials were running in his mind. He was sure that he had met Crystal first rather than that man, but he couldn't avoid the fact that Marco had more than him. Marco had good wealth and a good appearance. Marco was the CEO of a company. It was enough to attract the gold digger, and with the overall that Marco had, Mars was sure a lot of women wanted Marco. And the bitter reality was Mr. Perfect wanted his lovely girl. He had seen how Marco was so confident when he said to his boss that he wanted his lovely girl, whereas he had held his feelings for so many years. He felt that he couldn't win this battle. "Huff..." He exhaled... He noticed that he couldn't calm down the war in his mind. How he would win a battle with Mr. Perfect? He drank all the coffee in the cup and wanted to go back to the workshop. He didn't want to leave the workshop for a long time and somebody would notice his absence. He put the cup back on the table. He didn't feel anything in his favorite drink, which he just drank. His chest was still burning. "Thanks for the coffee." He said to Crystal's mother before leaving the dining room and she didn't answer, she was only looking at him leaving the dining room. She was sure something had happened to him, but Diana didn't know it was because of her daughter.
