When we stepped inside, I saw Jimmy garbed in his kimono and wanted to grit my teeth. He doesn’t care about any of us and was worse than the dang aliens. My gut had never led me astray, and something told me that Jimmy had been using us to get things from the aliens. He would sell his own mother for some rice wine. Thankfully, she had died and couldn’t witness the monster she birthed.
The room was dark and Fellan stood in the middle of the floor. Glancing over at Esme, I looked past her to the alien. He had completely faded into the shadows and it was impossible to see him.
It was a shame that Esme and I couldn’t camouflage our skin into the shadows because Jimmy and Jett wouldn’t be happy to see us. We might have escaped the Vrakkil, but we had those two to deal with.
