I couldn't deny that I was intrigued by the idea of meeting Susan, Mia's friend, for coffee. As I walked to the cafe near the newspaper office where Mia and Susan worked, my mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. What was Mia up to, orchestrating this encounter? And why did she seem so intent on pushing my buttons? I was determined not to let her get under my skin.
When I arrived at the cafe, I spotted Susan sitting at a corner table, her face lighting up with a warm smile as she saw me approach. She was an attractive woman, and her friendly demeanor put me at ease.
"Massimo, it's so nice to see you again," Susan greeted me, standing to offer a friendly hug.
I returned the hug, a genuine smile forming on my face. "Likewise, Susan. Thank you for agreeing to meet me."
