With a deep breath, I spoke calmly. “Hello, Sean.”
Sean’s voice came through the line, smooth and sweet. It was the same voice that made me fall in love with him, the one that made my heart flutter, but then it felt like a knife twisting in my chest. “Jas, I’m so glad you answered. I’ve been worried sick about you. How are you holding up?”
