In the girls' house...
"Kayara, make it fast. We are getting late," Anna screeched at her from outside the door of Kayara's bathroom.
"Coming...just two more minutes!" Kayara replied from inside.
"Can't you just stay here and rest instead?" Anna suggested again, looking very tired. She had been arguing with her for the last half an hour.
"No..." Kayara giggled in the bathroom, trickles of water slipping down her skin as she cleaned herself.
After fifteen minutes, Kayara opened her bathroom door and came out with a white towel tied on her head.
"Is it necessary for you to come with us? You were feeling dizzy a while ago, so you should take rest here. We are not going out to enjoy ourselves or anything. It is just some of Sophie's paper work in the principal office, " Anna tried to convince Kayara yet again.
"Yes, you are right. I was not feeling well. Exactly why it is very necessary for me to come with you. I'll feel good if I get some fresh air," Kayara replied with a bright smile.
"Miss Stubborn, we'll be back only in two hours. And you will not get any fresh air while traveling midst of vehicles. But you will only get a headache again if you come with us on this meaningless journey," Anna said annoyingly.
"No means no. I'm coming and that's it," Kayara strode over to the dressing mirror, took out the blow dryer from the drawer and started drying her strands of her damp hair. "Moreover, I have something to discuss with our professor too. I rest my case, My lord," she contradicted immersed in what she was doing.
"Oh God... Really now? Are you for real? Let me see then what you have to discuss with the professor," she turned to walk away but halted mid-way and turned back again to face Kayara and said, "Remember one thing, if I find what you said right now as an excuse, I'll beat you till you have a headache again."
Kayara smiled lightly and watched Anna through the mirror. "Okay. I agree."
Anna finally left Kayara's room defeated. She sat next to Sophie who was sitting on the sofa with her eyes closed, her head slightly leaning against the headrest.
They had already skipped their only class that day because Kayara hadn't been feeling well that time. So they all had decided to rest at home.
But at noon, Sophie received an unexpected call from college informing her that the date for filling up the exam registration forms had been preponed and she needed to fill it out right away. Anna and Kayara had no problem but it was Sophie who had delayed it due to other work.
"Kayara and her stubbornness. How are we even handling her?" Anna sighed.
"Tired…?" Sophie asked with her eyes still closed.
"What should we do to stop her from straining herself too much?" Anna replied and rested her head on the headrest too.
"No one can stop her. By the way, who told you to tell her that we were going outside? You don't know how desperate she gets when hears the word 'hangout'," Sophie deadpanned.
"Hey...why are you blaming me? Firstly, it is not a hangout. And second, I wasn't the one who told her. I didn't tell her anything, actually. She was the one who overheard our conversation in your room and insisted to come with us, "Anna defended herself.
"I see. So it was our combined mistake. What can we do now anyway? Let her come with us. It's not like she will listen to us any further." Sophie said as she knew the girl they were talking about as she knew herself.
"Yes, you are right. Sometimes she really act a child-like," Anna let out a deep breath.
Initially only Anna and Sophie had planned to go to the college so that Kayara could rest a little bit more. But clearly, they had no other option than to take her with them.
Sophie knew her friend's stubbornness like the back of her own hand. The only reason she didn't bother to argue with her and stayed silent.
When the two girls were waiting patiently "I'm ready. Let's go," Kayara came out of her room, smiling like the spring morning sun. The other two got up and stepped out of the house together.
Their cab was on its way to the college and Kayara was smiling like she had just won the third world war.
"You are seriously unbelievable Kayara. I still don't understand why you insisted on coming with us even though you were not feeling good," Anna asked as she noticed her never fading wide smile on her face.
"Because living there alone is a big torture for me. And you know how much I love you and care for you. And I can't let you get bored when Sophie fills out her long paperwork," Kayara winked at Anna, playing hanky panky role with her friend.
Instead of lightening up the mood, the wink had increased Anna's annoyance levels even more. She frowned and asked, "What about that discussion with the professor? Forgot about that already?" she taunted.
Kayara coughed hesitantly and replied, "Well, yeah I sort of forgot it. Thank you for the reminder, darling."
Hearing her reply, Anna nodded her head and stared straight ahead, at the road whooshing by.
"What kind of discussion are you talking about?" Sophie asked, cutting out the silence.
"Kayara said she needed to discuss something with a professor and that's the reason she insisted on coming with us." Anna replied, turning towards Kayara with a fake smile. "Am I right Kayara?"
"Yeah, she is right." Kayara agreed innocently.
Listening to her answer, Anna got even more annoyed because she knew that Kayara was just making excuses. She murmured to herself, "Still playing with me. Ah.... What a stubborn girl."
"Huh? Did you say something?" Kayara asked, knotting her eyebrows.
"No, I said that it's good you came with us then," she smiled and turned to watch outside the window.
Kayara simply looked away, knowing well that she had pissed her friend off by all teasing. The rest of the journey continued in silence except for the little useless talks of the cab driver with the girls.
