"Oh now I see. You tried to drop hints to her but she misunderstood things and thought that you were trying to woo her friend, not her." Mrs. Olivia repeated her son's story in brief words.
"Yes, that's like it. And I still can't understand where I went wrong to create such a misunderstanding."
"Indeed! This was totally absurd if we think from our perspective. But the girls definitely had something that led them to draw this conclusion. Tell me one thing. Did you know Sophie before meeting Kayara?" her mother questioned. "Have you met her before?"
