I couldn’t trust a stranger in my house. What if she tried to sneak out in the middle of the night or did something else I wouldn’t like? I was decent enough not to put a camera in her room, but I still needed to know whenever she left. So, I found another way. I stepped out of the bathroom, drying my damp hair with a towel. My phone buzzed on the nightstand, the screen lighting up. I glanced at it but didn’t bother reaching for it.
