Max A chill breeze swept through the fields, but it wasn"t enough to stop my hands from burning thanks to the rough wood of the shovel I was using to dig trenches for the new spring cabbages we were planting. They grew quickly and they should make it through the harsh winter coming up, which mattered more than whether they were tasty or not. Which they definitely weren"t. But considering the state of the world, just having enough food was good enough. A brown rabbit hopped in front of me, almost getting under my shovel. "Careful, you silly thing."
