Natasha
It was quiet over the next week, no new deaths were reported. College had broken up for the summer too, so I had not much to do which is the only reason I agreed to allow Amber to drag me to some strip club she wanted to check out, she thought it would be fun and silly, she’d asked mum first, but she refused, and so she’d come to me pleading and saying she didn’t want to go alone.
“Won’t Leo be jealous?” I asked.
“No, he trusts me, and he’s so gorgeous and treats me so good I’d never be tempted to stray, I just want to do something silly and crazy for once, come on, come with me.”
“Ok,” I laughed, it could be fun, and I was curious. Maybe if I did something very adult and a bit naughty, then Kai would notice me more.
We got dressed up, she did my makeup, bold makeup with red lipstick, she pinned my hair up in some full and messy yet princess type bun letting some of my ringlets free to hang around my face. I felt pretty.
I put on the black curve hugging dress that I’d worn to the house party and threw on a thin black cardigan on top, I hated my fat arms showing.
“Stop that!” Amber scolded.
I looked at her, startled. “Stop what?”
“I can literally see you staring in the mirror and fat shaming yourself, stop, you’re gorgeous, embrace it.”
She came over and tugged my dress down so more of my cleavage was on display. “Besides, all they’ll be noticing are these bad boys.”
I giggled, blushing, and she grinned. “You’re lucky, I wish I had big t.its, mine aren’t even bigger than an apple!”
“Amber! Ssh, you’re beautiful.”
“And so are you, so let’s go and have some fun!”
Heading downstairs mum kissed my cheek and said I looked lovely while dad traveled his eyes over me unimpressed.
“Do I look awful?” I asked him.
He met my eyes and came over. “No, sorry, I don’t like seeing you all grown up, you look lovely darling.” He kissed the top of my head, and then Amber dragged me out of the house.
I was fine until we reached the club, then my shyness kicked in, and I couldn’t stop blushing like crazy. When I reached the bouncer, I was blushing and fumbling so much with my I.D that it fell to the floor, I quickly picked it up and then it sort of just flung out of my hands and almost smacked him in the face.
He gave a small frown, but was smiling like he knew why I was acting so bizarrely, he handed it back to me and we went inside.
I was regretting coming now, my anxiety was taking over, the women here were so confident, cheering and yelling, men were on stage doing dances that had my face burning hot, I felt like I was on fire.
I’d watched adult videos before, just out of curiosity, but seeing men half naked in real life dancing like THAT was so different.
We sat down and Amber got us some drinks. I relaxed once we were sitting, that was until I almost had a heart attack when one of the dancers started looking around for a volunteer to come up on stage, I stopped breathing when he looked at me, I slid down trying to hide and breathed a sigh of relief when his gaze carried on past me.
I was just started to relax again until the next dancer came on stage and I almost had my second heart attack for the night. Kai, it was freaking Kai! “That is Kai, you’re seeing what I’m seeing, right?” I asked Amber.
She was staring in shock too, we knew he had a job, but he’d never told anyone what it was.
We watched transfixed, the way he moved was so incredible and sexy, his wolf helped him move and dance gracefully, and seeing him half naked and dancing like that had me growing wet, I clamped my legs shut trying to control myself, but I couldn’t. He. Was. Hot.
When the act was over, Amber grinned at me when she saw people lining up for private dances. “I’m getting you a dance with Kai.”
“What! No, no way,” I rushed, resisting against her trying to tug me towards the private rooms.
“You’ve been crushing on him for years, this is the perfect opportunity to get close to him.”
“No way! No, no, just no, let’s go home,” I pleaded, but she was having none of it and using her werewolf strength she pulled me along until we were in the queue. People chose what dancers they wanted, and I wasn’t surprised that Kai seemed to be the more popular choice.
He came out of his room topless and confident, laughing at what the lady he came out with was saying. When they reached the exit he kissed her cheek and turned to face the next customer with a grin on his face. When his eyes met mine, his grin dropped.
“Hey,” I whispered and gave a small wave.
He looked at Amber. “What are you two doing here?”
“We came to see the hot strippers, didn’t know you’d be one of them,” she grinned. She pushed me towards him and said, “there’s no stripper I trust more with Natasha, I’m sure you’ll take good care of her.”
“What! I’m not giving her a private dance,” he hissed.
“Yes you are, she’s a paying customer, and she wants a dance.”
Oh my god, I was blushing so bad I wanted the ground to swallow me up, I could tell by his p.issed off face that he didn’t want to do it, but then his manger came over and asked him, “is everything ok here?”
Amber interrupted, “yes, we want Kai to dance for my friend, that’s ok, right?”
“Of course it is, Kai?” Kai looked at his manager who gave him a warning look, and grumbling under his breath he plastered on a fake small smile and said, “yep, absolutely.” He walked back to the private room and I meekly followed wishing I could run away, I didn’t want him to feel forced into anything.
When I stood there awkwardly, he said, “sit.”
I sat on the chair in the middle of the room, and he went over to the music and hit play. ‘The weekend’ came on playing earned it, and oh my god the lyrics had me blushing and not knowing where to put my face, if you were to go listen to that song right now, then you would understand just how flustered I was with it playing while Kai danced for me, not just danced for me either, he moved against me, gyrating and moving so gracefully as he fell into professional mode.
I looked down at the floor, and he used a finger to tilt my chin up and make me look at him. He straddled my lap and started dancing sexily against me, his scent filled my nose, and it was all I could do not to climax from that alone.
When he started to grind against me, my heart started pounding, and he heard it. He looked down at me with a raised eyebrow and then winked and carried on with the dance. When it was over I don’t think I could move, my whole body tingled with desire and Amber was right, this was the closest I’d ever been to Kai in such an intimate setting, and now I was here I didn’t want to leave.
He held his hand out to me and I gently put mine in his, and he helped me to my feet. “How was that?” He asked grinning.
“Hot,” I blurted and then blushed.
He laughed and ruffled my hair. “Don’t go growing a crush on me now,” he teased.
The words, “I already do,” were on the tip of my tongue, but then I chickened out and clamped my mouth shut.
When we reached the door, I stopped with my hand on the doorknob. If I didn’t tell him now while I had a drink in me, then I knew I never would. I didn’t turn around to face him, I wasn’t that brave. “I already do have a crush on you by the way, I have for years.” Then like the coward I was, I rushed out the door before he could say anything.
Amber ran after me as I rushed out of the club. “What’s wrong!”
“I told him about my crush on him.”
She frowned, confused. “You told him you had a—” it finally clicked, and she gave an ‘oh s.hit’ face. “Oh! Wow, what did he say!”
“I didn’t wait for a reply, I ran away.”
“You should have waited, you could have finally found out if he likes you too.”
“Pfft, he doesn’t, why would he?”
“Uh, because you’re a very single female werewolf, the only one available, he’s wanted a mate for years.”
“Doesn’t act like it.”
“He wants a werewolf mate not a human, besides, you know we can’t be with humans anyway.”
I wanted to believe her, I wanted to believe in the possibility he could like me, but I’d seen the women he dated, they were always tall, slim, long-legged glamorous women who oozed confidence and were usually blonde.
When we got home, I managed to avoid everyone with a quick mumbled goodnight and hid in my room.
When the following day arrived, I crept down the stairs after making sure he wasn’t there. I rushed my breakfast, but it wasn’t long before he showed up, and I didn’t have time to run.
My heart sunk, he didn’t so much as even acknowledge last night, he annoyingly ruffled my hair and chatted away as if nothing had ever happened, my cheeks burned from bashfulness, but Kai acting like this meant I still didn’t have any closure, and I still wasn’t any closer to knowing how he felt, though his lack of acknowledgment was probably answer enough that he wasn’t interested.
I was afraid that if I wanted a real answer from him, I was going to have to be really honest and talk to him properly.
