I Have To Be Strong

Emily's pov

I pick my phone up from my bag still and dials my bestie's contact, baby girl how are you doing,how's work going? I ask

Are you ok Emy she asks me immediately sensing my pain through my voice .

I have a lot to tell you, I also forgot my spare keys so for now I have something I want to take care of and after that I would drop by your office so we can go home together.

Alright b***h she says laughing as she hangs up the call.

I boarded a taxi ,to a quiet area where I can take my time and go through the envelope Mrs Geraldine Laurent threw on me on his birthday party. I tore the envelope open and I saw a check of 43,000 thousand dollars with a description written f**k off , I smiled at the sight of the insane description.

What do I do with this money ? I ask myself. If I start up a business in this same city Sebastian and Tylar will do their best to frustrate me , I thought out loud.

I can't rise here ,my spirit was trampled on in this same city. I need a new start and a new beginning, a new identity not the wounded Emily.I can do this. I say to myself beating my chest and looking round to see if anyone is looking at me and probably thinks I'm insane . I chuckled at that thought.

I brush my hair back as it's packed into a ponytail and board another taxi to the bank. I cashed the check and headed out to meet my bestie at her office .

As I reached her working place she was already done with work for the day and she sights me and she joggles happily towards me as we hug ourselves so tight .

What's your plan for the night b***h she asks me being the way we address ourselves when trying to be goofy.

Nothing gurl I say ,maybe we just hit home to eat and prolly sleep.

“Uuuuf” she says rolling her eyes, Emily when would ever stop being so boring get in the car we're going to the cinema to catch some movies , then check out the club to catch some dude she said laughing hysterically .

You're so damn crazy I say to her ,alright you lead the way and I'm going to follow your lead your highness I say to her as I hopped into the car.

I laid down everything that happened today and decided to enjoy myself as this would be my last days here. I enjoyed every moment, the movie was great , and finally we went to the best club. The heaviness of the music filled my soul and I danced my soul out.

It was already so late and I sighted Sebastian's best friends from the other side of the club looking at me. I can read their minds because they except Kent the gentleman had this surprise feeling as it's been weeks and yet I didn't return to Sebastian their Lord per say. I rolled my eyes on them and walked to the bartender and ordered another cup of liquor filling my soul to the fullest.

Emily, we have to leave now enough with the drink my bestie said to me , ok ma'am as you say I replied and dropped my cup .She proceeded to pay for our drinks but I declined,no let me handle i said to her as she looked at me so surprised. I made the payment and we left the premises. As we got home so tired we both showered together, slipped into our night robes and crashed on the bed .

As the morning air filled our room with the lovely autumn sunshine shining through our blinds we wake up to the sound of a police siren in our neighborhood,

Oh it's 8:30 am in the morning and I'm so famished .

What are having for breakfast babe I ask my bestie,

Can you make omelet and chips please Emy she asks me , rodger that I replied to her as I go over to the neatly cleaned kitchen and gets my ingredients from the pantry all washed up and set to prepare.

The food is done and my bestie walks into the kitchen complimenting my cooking artistry, this smells so delicious Emy she says amidst giggles as we dig into our breakfast.

As my best friend takes her last bite she looks at me worried and asks me if I'm ok.

Yes I'm fine babe I answered her. You said you had something to tell me yesterday. What is it? I feel the silence in your soul , I feel the heaviness in your heart. I'm not just your friend but a sister. I can't even imagine life without you because it would be meaningless. I know you've passed through a rough patch this past week but I want you to know that I will always be here for you my bestie says as I drop a tear and hug her thanking her for her love.

I dropped by my beauty shop today girl and Sebastian revoked my ownership. It's being run by Tylar I say pouring out my heart.

“Wait what? How can he do such a thing? Should I go meet him and talk some sense into his godforsaken brain?" my bestie says, fuming with anger.

“No there's no need for that sis , let him ride in his ship of success and fame and wait for karma” I say gently .

There's something else I want to let you know , the envelope that was thrown at me that day by Sebastian's mom was a check. I cashed it out today ,I said, ending my speech abruptly as she received a phone call and hurried upstairs to take the calls .

“ Emy” my bestie calls after taking her calls ,why do I feel like there's something else you have to tell me , are you hiding anything from me b***h she teases as I sigh heavily

“Uhhhm” I stuttered. Let me get us some popcorn, I say , trying to change the topic and I was glad she didn't push further as I slipped out to make some popcorn.
