As their eyes got caught up in each other, he simply rolled his eyes away, not feeling any sort of guilt as we walked to the bar to get a drink.
She scoffed as she was amazed by his audacity and his lack of feelings of guilt or anything related to that.
On his way, he stopped, turned back, and told her carefreely that they would be going out in an hour for a meeting which demanded he come with his wife.
“Why on earth would I follow a self-loathed, w***e f*****g wretch like you?” She screamed at him in anger.
He stared at her viciously and then gave her a resounding slap on her cheek.
“Don't you ever and I mean ever in your entire life, talk to me like that again. Or else, that day would be your last.
He then turned around, walked away while she leaned on the wall, and slowly moved to the floor as tears ran down her cheeks.
He returned with his drink after a few minutes.
As he walked to his room door, he was just about to open it when he turned to look at her, feeling absolutely nothing.
“I'd be out in an hour. If I get out and you're not ready, you will hate me more. I promise you that.” He said to that in a calm tone.
He entered his room and banged the door. In a short while, Rose was passing by with a basket of laundry, when she saw Jennifer sitting alone and crying bitterly.
“Ma'am, what's the problem? What happened? Why are you this way? She asked with so much concern in her voice.
Jennifer just continued sobbing.
“Here, get up, let me help you to your room. Please stop crying ma'am, it hurts to see you this way.
“What did I do to deserve all this?” she asked as she continued crying bitterly. “Why must he treat me this way? He married me, I never asked to be married by him, so why must he do this to me?”
“Mr. Stanley did this?” Well, I'm not surprised. He is a cruel and bitter man. I am truly sorry for all of this.”
“He wants me to go out with him to a meeting in an hour, but I will not follow that bastard anywhere.”
“Ma'am, I do not think that would be a good idea. To avoid any more of this, please go out with him.”
“Please I beg you, for both our sakes, please do. Can you stop crying now?” She said as she wiped the tears off her face.
Jennifer agreed and eventually went out with her husband.
In about two hours and forty-five minutes, the meeting was over and after exchanging more pleasantries, the couple settled into their car and zoomed off.
They got home and as Jennifer entered the house, Stanley her husband went right back out to hang out with his friends.
Jennifer stepped into the shower and turned it on, letting out a sigh of relief as the cold water cascaded over her entire body.
She closed her eyes and relaxed, letting her mind get cleared up and open. Suddenly, she heard the room door open up, her eyes shot open in alarm.
“Who's there?” She called out, her voice echoing off the sealed walls.
She quickly turned off the shower, her heart began pacing speedily.
“Who the hell is there?” She called out again.
Still, there was no response and she called out one more time, quite louder now, “Rose, is that you?” Still, there was no response and she began to feel uncomfortable.
As she stretched her hand to get her robe, a hand reached out to it before her, yanking it before she could, causing her to leap back in fear.
She covered up her breasts with one hand and used the other to cover up her private part, her heart racing uncontrollably.
“Who is it, who's there?” She screamed out in terror.
She came out of the shower and her heart jumped into her throat as she saw David standing right there in front of her, looking straight at her with her robe in the palm of his hands.
“My Goodness!!!” Jennifer screamed, crossing her hand over her chest to cover up her body. “What the hell are you doing here?” “How on earth did you even find me?”
She immediately grabbed the robe from him and covered up her exposed body. She wrapped it around her body, trying to cover as much as she could, but she was still feeling exposed and vulnerable.
“Why are you hiding your body so quickly?” David asked, noticing that she was holding her robe tightly on her body.
“You do not need to cover up for me,” David said, gesturing to her robe. “I've seen you naked before you know.”
“I've missed you, Jennifer.” He said as he stood there staring into her eyes.
He reached out to kiss her, but she turned away, trying to avoid his tempting lips.
“Stop this, David,” she said, pushing him away, “You can't keep doing this.”
“What do you mean? Don't you love me anymore?”
“Everything I had for you died the day you decided to abandon me at the bus station,” she said, her voice heavy with emotion.
“You chose to walk away from me, you chose to let me go. “I waited for you for hours under the rain, hoping you would show up,” she said as she hit him softly on his chest while bursting into tears.
David looked down to the floor, his eyes shadowed up with regret. “I know that I wronged you, I know that I hurt you, but I still love you.”
“Stop it, David” Jennifer said, her voice firm. “This isn't fair to me or my husband. “You cannot just walk in and out of my life whenever you please.”
David didn't stop, he stepped even closer to Jennifer, his heart beating with anticipation.
Jennifer shifted backward by a step, feeling her heart race nervously. She still felt something for him, regardless of what he did.
David could sense her apprehension, but he did not let it deter him. He moved even closer to her, his eyes locked on hers and he reached out to brush her hair from her face.
Jennifer's heart moved to her throat as she felt his fingers on her skin. She wanted to pull away, to tell him to stop, but couldn't seem to find the words.
Finally, David spoke. “Are you scared?” He asked, his voice low and husky. “Scared that you won't be able to resist me?”
Her eyes opened up in alarm as she breathed heavily. “No, I'm not scared, I just don't want us to do something we'll both regret.”
She swallowed hard, with her eyes locked on his, she knew she was on the brink of giving in.
But before she could say anything else, David pressed his lips to hers, cutting off any further protests she might have made.
As t
hey continued kissing and feeling each other's bodies passionately, Jennifer's room door was pushed open.
