Jennifer then pushed David away as quickly as she could but it was too late because they had already been seen by the person who entered the room. Fortunately for them, it was Grace, the housekeeper and Jennifer sighed in relief as she held her chest with her hand. “I'm sorry ma'am, I didn't mean to interrupt.” “No it's fine, it's fine, you didn't interrupt anything,” she said her voice breaking. “I just came to let you that I'm done preparing the food you asked me to prepare.” “Splendid, thank you so much Grace.” “You're welcome, ma'am. I would take my leave now.” “You need to leave now David,” Jennifer said in a very firm tone. “What if my husband saw us?” OH MY GOD!!” “How could I have let you have your way again?” She asked herself as she placed her hand on her forehead. “I'm so stupid,” she said to herself. “Don't tell me you don't feel what we have for each other anymore” David said as he leaned in to hold her. “Don't touch me” she said firmly “Get out of my room” “But Jennifer?” “Get out” she screamed at the top of her voice. David walked away feeling disappointed and heartbroken. Jennifer moved to her bed and laid forcefully on it. Looking at the ceiling and trying to wrap her head around all that just happened. She then calls out to Grace to get her the food. Feeling overwhelmed, she lost her appetite and wasn't even able to eat up to a quarter of the food. She then lay on her bed and slept off. The next morning, as her husband, Stanley was preparing to go work, he entered the bathroom to have his bath. Suddenly, Jennifer heard a scream. Feeling very scared, she ran out of her room to see what had happened and traced the sound of the screams to Stanley's bathroom. She then saw her husband lying helpless on the bathroom floor. “OH MY GOD” What happened to you?” She asked raising her eyebrows and widening her eyes in shock as she also placed her hand on her chest. “Help me, please help me!!” Stanley begged softly as he was in true pain. She reached out to him, trying to pull him up but found it quite difficult. She then started screaming for help as Mr Stanley closed his eyes and lost consciousness. Luckily, the house assistant had just come upstairs, so she was able to hear her cry for help. She immediately rushed into the room, not minding the fact that it was her master's room. “OH MY GOODNESS!!” she exclaimed in total shock dropping the bag of laundry she was holding in her hands. “What happened ma'am? Why is Mr Stanley lying lifeless on the bathroom floor?” “Now is not the time for questions,” she said firmly. “Just come give me a hand.” The two women tried to pull him up, but they couldn't still move him completely. “His weight is just too much for us to carry,” Jennifer said. “Rush down and call Benson, the gatekeeper, let him come and help us.” Grace hurriedly left the room and in a matter of seconds, Benson was in the room. “Take his upper body, while I take his legs,” Jennifer said to him as she was still breathing rapidly in fear. That way, they were able to take him downstairs, put him in one of their cars, and quickly zoom off to the hospital. The car moved into the compound of the hospital with great speed, screeching as it came to a halt. Jennifer went in, called out some staff and together, they put him on a stretcher and rushed him into the emergency room. “Isn't that Mr Stanley, the wealthy and powerful billionaire?” one of the staff asked. “Yes, of course, he is” another answered. “What on earth could have kept him in this state?” I just hope his wife had nothing to do with it. After much waiting and pacing uncontrollably down the hall in fear, the doctor came out. “Hey doctor, how is he? Please tell me he's alright” Jennifer said, her voice filled with concern and fear. The doctor looked at her and smiled. “Your husband is doing quite all right.” It's nothing major. Once we administer some medications to him and give him the proper treatment, he will be out of here in no time.” “Thank you, doctor, I appreciate your work, thank you,” Jennifer replied as she shook his hands. “Can I go in to see him now?” She asked expectantly. “Yeah sure you can” the doctor replied. “Thank you once again, doctor,” she said as she walked away from him and towards the door. She slowly opened the door and moved towards her husband. She then sat by his side, not knowing what to say as they don't get along so much. “How are you feeling” she asked, not expecting an answer in return though, knowing who her husband was. “I've had better days, he replied leaving her surprised. “I hate being in a state like this, being helpless and dependent, feeling like a burden, it's very annoying. Mr Stanley said calmly. “Don't worry, I don't mind and I will not see you as a burden. After all, you are my husband. “Can I ask you something?” Mr Stanley said. “What is it?” She replied “Why? Why did you choose to help me, after all I did to you? You had an option to leave me to die right there on the bathroom floor, so why?” “Everyone deserves to live, nobody on earth deserves to die. Even if he or she is as ruthless and wicked as the devil, he or she should still be given a chance to live. Everyone makes mistakes and besides, you're my husband.” “You're a good person, Jennifer. I've not come across your kind before. You have a large heart and I like that” he said to her as she showed a little smile which was heartfelt this time.
