As soon as I enter my lab, I lean against the wall and let out a huge sigh of relief. I did it, I survived spending time with him. I didn't think I could, but I did. He seemed to believe my lie about the kids, and he also seemed very sincere in his apology, but it still doesn't change what he did to me.
Also, there was some serious tension between him and Scarlett; it looks like all is not well in their paradise. I need to go home, see my kids, have a glass of wine and talk this over with Zoey. I look at my watch, and it's just one in the afternoon; I can't leave now; I still have time to kill.
I push Leo out of my mind and walk into the lab. “Good afternoon Doctor Everhart.” Emmett, my lab assistant greets me.
