I get back home and from what I can hear, Scarlett isn't here, which fills me with a sense of relief rather than worry. I've been in denial for a very long time, maybe it was because I've loved her since I knew what love meant. But now it's like the covers have been removed from my eyes. When she left me the first time to get married to someone else, I should've let her go then, but I didn't. I still loved her, which was why when she came back I took her back with no questions asked.
But that right there was the biggest mistake of my life; there's a saying that goes, ‘When someone shows you who they are, believe them.’ Scarlett showed me the type of person she was when she left me and I should've believed her. If I did then my life would've been completely different. L
