Tonight was homecoming, everyone was getting ready, everyone except you, Tara's been at your house since this afternoon. "I can't wait." She bounced on the spot. "That makes one of us." You laughed. "I still think you should go." Tara insisted. "I still think you're crazy." You laughed. "Fine, at least help me get ready." Tara smiled. Tara disappears into your bathroom and after struggling with her dress for ten minutes Tara appears. "What do you think?" She spins around. She bought a white dress with flowers on it, it was beautiful, you can feel the tears building. You spent half an hour perfecting her hair, you clipped it up into a bun she looked like a princess with her tiara. "You look beautiful." You smiled. "Put your dress on so we can take a photo together." Tara smiled. You head into the bathroom and put your dress on, your dress is grey and half long, half short covered in black flowers, you return to Tara looking at you gobsmacked. "What?" You smiled. "You look beautiful." Tara squeals. Tara snaps a photo and heads down to meet Sam, you go with her. You walk down into the foyer of your house, Sam is waiting for Tara in his Blue suit. "Look at you both." He beams. "I forgot I was wearing it, Tara looks stunning doesn't she?" You laughed. "She does, shame you're not going. I'll see you later." Sam smiled and grabbed Tara by her arm. You wave them off, you head back upstairs to get changed, but the doorbell goes. You turn around to answer the door. "Did we forget something already?" You call through he door laughing. Your expression changes as soon as you see whose standing on the other side of the door. "Homecoming?" Zack stood looking at you, in a beige suit. "I think I have to pass, it's not really my vibe." You explained. "Come for twenty minutes, if you're still not feeling it, we can come back and watch a movie or something." Zack smiled. "Okay, fine, you twisted my arm." You grab Zacks arm and head out to the dance. You arrive at Homecoming, the theme is a disco, it's littered with couples, singles and people who really didn't want to go, it makes you feel a little more at ease that you're not the only one anxious about going. Zack turns to you smiling. "Can I have this dance?" Zack holds out his hand. You take his hand, once the dance is over you head home. "That wasn't so bad was it?" Zack laughed. "Guess not." You chuckled. Zack stops for a moment as though he wants to kiss you but pulls away. "I better go." Zack blushed. "Thanks I had a good time." You smiled. Zack leaves you and you head for a walk in the woods, you want to perfect the claw control. You spend a while practicing until you perfect it, you here a crunch of leaves behind you. "What's a girl like you doing out here all alone?" A man stood before you, wearing a leather jacket with a man bun. "None of your business." You snapped. "Oh but it is, you're on my packs territory." He explained. "You know I'm a werewolf?" You asked. "Yeah, it's instinct. I wouldn't have mentioned my pack otherwise." He smiled. "You're alone for an Alpha." You remarked. "I'm not the Alpha but he'd sure love to recruit you." The man smiled. Just then out of nowhere you hear him. "Leave her alone, she's with me." Nate snapped. "Sure man, sorry." The man runs off. You turn to Nate. "Why are you always saving me?" "Right place right time I guess." Nate smirks. "It's not funny, thankyou for saving me but you need to leave." You snapped. "Just let me make sure you get home okay, please." He gives you a pleading look. Without another word you follow him to his truck, the drive back is silent. Nate drives you home, you pull up outside your house as Sam and Zack arrive. "What are you doing?" Sam snapped. "There was a situation and Nate helped me." You explained. "You ditched Zack to hang out with him?" Sam snapped again. "I didn't ditch him, Zack dropped me home and left. I chose to go for a walk alone." You insisted. "Get in the house and stay away from Nate!" Sam glares at you a moment "Nate saved me from being attacked, give him some credit, you're not my dad, I won't listen to you!" You snapped. "No, dad is dead because of him." Sam hissed. "Why do you keep bringing that up?" You look at Sam sadly. Sam storms into the house ignoring you. You hug Nate goodbye and thank him for today before following your brother into the house, you head straight for your room. Every time we are with Nate, he brings up dad, I want to remember him with happy memories. You climb into bed, you struggle to sleep that night, finally morning arrives, you head for breakfast. Your mom is stood in the kitchen waiting for you with your usual breakfast of pancakes. "Hello sweetie, are you okay?" She smiled. "I'm fine mom, how are you feeling?" You asked. "Better have you any plans for today?" She asked. "I was thinking about going to the carnival that's in town." You smiled. "With your brother?" She asked. "No, I'm mad at Sam." You explained gloomily. "I hope you two can work it out." She gives you a sympathetic smile. As if on cue Sam enters the kitchen, he doesn't look at you, he just grabs a plate and heads to the table. It's silent a moment. "What's going on?" Sam asked. "Olivia was just telling me she was going to the carnival today." She explained. "Yeah, with who?" Sam questioned. "Myself" You reply huffily. "Then maybe me and Tara can tag along." Sam suggested. "Sure." You trail off. Why didn't I think to invite Tara, my head has been so scrambled. Sam texts Tara asking her if she wants to come. You head to the carnival with Sam, Tara is going to meet you there, you arrive at the carnival, a very excited Tara is waiting for you. "Hey you two." She hummed. "There's my girl" Sam beamed. "When did she become your girl?" You look at them both shocked. "After homecoming night." Sam smiled. "Well if Madison finds out, there will be hell." You laughed. "Nothing we can't handle, I invited Zack, I thought it would be nice." Tara smiled. "Oh, great, where is he?" You look around for him. "He's grabbing drinks." Tara smiled. Zack comes over to join you all, he spots you and smiles. "Soda for Tara, Water for Sam and I took a guess but milkshake for Olivia." Zack hands the drinks out. "That's sweet thanks." You accept the milkshake. "Her favourite drink is Cherry soda." Tara chuckled. "T. I sound like such a kid." You laughed. "You are a kid." Sam laughed. "I'm a year younger than you douche." You mocked. "Just get walking." Sam shoves you playfully. You spend the next few hours between rides. You approach a claw machine. "A claw machine, I love those, do you want to go on one Olivia?" Tara squealed. "Yes! I'll get you a bear." You laughed. "As her date I insist on getting her a bear." Sam beamed. You raise an eyebrow a moment then remember that Sam and Tara are dating. "This is going to take some getting used to." You laughed. "Move, kiddo." Sam laughed and playfully shoves you. You move aside and watch as Sam attempts to win Tara a bear, you notice Zack has attached himself to the other machine beside Sam., he looks focused, once Sam had won Tara a bear the three of you surround Zack. "Guys you're freaking me out." Zack notices the three of you at his side. "Chill, you'll do fine." You reassure him patting his shoulder. Zack takes a deep breath and after a few attempts he wins a bear, he grabs it and proudly hands it to you, your cheeks heat up a little. "Thankyou." You smiled sheepishly. Zack gave you an awkwardly sweet smile and blushed a little. "Should we head for food I'm starving?" Zack quickly changed the subject. "Sure, can we go for burgers?" You asked enthusiastically. "Sure." Zack laughs, pulling you toward the burger van. You, Zack, Sam and Tara head to the burger van just up from the carnival on the pier, the crowd surrounding it was small, there was only one or two other people there, you order three burgers, just for yourself, Zack looked at you in amazement. "She's always had an appetite." Sam chuckled. You laugh with the group, the laughter is interrupted by Madison and her friends. She heads straight for you, her minions right behind her, she smirks in your direction before turning to Zack and Sam. "Hi boys, are these freaks bothering you?" her voice near a cackle. "No, Tara is my girlfriend." Sam shut her down. "Oh." Madison's face filled with rage. She then turned to Zack, putting her best flirty face on, she smiled flirtatiously. "Zacky is she bothering you?" She pointed to you and batted her eyelashes at Zack. You can feel yourself getting infuriated with her. The more she talks the more you want to rip her designer bag in half, you take a deep breath, glare at her and begin the rant that's going to last awhile. "Madison you're the one that is bothering us. We were having a nice time and you ruined it." You snapped. "I was talking to Zacky, not you." She smirked. "She said what I was thinking." Zack smiled. "You actually agree with her?!" She huffed. Zack nods at her confirming he agrees with you, you give her a sassy wave, to shoo her off. "Run along Madison." You yell as she storms away. "This isn't over." She glances back glaring at you. "I gathered." You muttered to yourself. After finishing up at the carnival You and Zack walk back to your house parting ways with Sam and Tara. Sam decided to walk Tara home, since that was the appropriate thing to do since they were dating. You glance up to Zack as you walk down the road. "Why are you being nice to me?" You questioned. "Because you're cool." Zack laughed. "So it has nothing to do with being me being your best friends sister?" You raise an eyebrow. "No. I think you're cool, you handle Sam and Nate and they are both similar." Zack explained. "Sure handling hormonal assy jocks is so similar, anyway how is football going?" You asked. "Ugh, please no football talk, I have enough of that with Sam. What about you, what do you like?" He smiled at you. "I'm pretty boring, I like watching movies, reading, I like arcades and games." You reply casually. "That's not boring." Zack smiled. As you're walking down the street, you spot a familiar coat, Nate's jacket, you turn away and think you're imagining it, but then you spot Nate again, it's like he's following you, you pull out your phone to text him. (Text conversation) Are you following me? No. I don't believe you! That's fine. You tuck your phone back into your pocket, the less you have to speak to Nate the better. Zack glances at you, he looks a little worried. "Is everything okay?" He asked. "Yeah, fine." You reply quickly. You finally arrive home, Zack smiles at you nervously, you give him a wave and head inside.
