Fraternising With the enemy

Finally after what felt like an eternity of studying, you're finally ready for the party, Ella heads off before you but Nate arrives not too much later to pick you up, you slip out into the hall way.

"Your date awaits." Nate outstretches his arm for you.

"I feel underdressed now." You look at Nates pyjama set and then look at your pyjamas.

You chose the matching crop top and shorts that comes with a robe.

"You look good." Nate holds out his hand, you take it, you both head over to Beta.

You enter Beta, the house is a bustle with Jocks and their girlfriends all talking, you spot Ella and Kain amongst the sea of people, you beeline for them.

You find a seat next to Ella and Kain. Ella turns to you.

"You look hot" She remarks.

"That's probably why betas have these parties to see chick's in their pjs" Kain chuckles.

"And those dudes are pigs, ladies, here are your snacks." Nate presents you and Ella with snacks.

Nate drops a bag of chips, some popcorn and chocolate into your lap, he hands you a cherry soda too. As you settle down to watch a movie, Zack walks in followed by Taylor, Zack glares at you.

"Ignore them, immature." Ella mutters to you.

Nate notices Zack watching and whispers into your ear. "Play along, he might leave us alone."

You give a fake laugh and turn to watch the movie. You feed Nate some of the popcorn. Halfway through the movie, you hear the door burst open.

"Where is she?" Sam's filled with rage.

"Bro what the hell, we are trying to watch a movie" Nate snaps at Sam.

Sam weaves through everyone and approaches you, he grabs your wrist and pulls you to your feet.

"Get off me!" You scream at him.

"I knew you'd be here with him!" Sam scolds you.

Nate follows behind you as Sam drags you out of the frat house. You stand outside the frat house in your pyjamas. It's pretty cold and Sam thinks this is a good time and place to treat you like a child.

"What the hell is your problem?" You yell at Sam.

"Why are you hanging out with Nate?" Sam demands an answer.

You take a deep breath "what is your problem with Nate?" You hiss.

"He can't be trusted" Sam remarks.

"I trust him, don't you think he's suffered enough?" You feel the fire in the pit of your stomach growing.

"Why are you defending him?" Sam barks.

"Because he was there for me when you left me in that accident, the six weeks my foot was in a cast and mom getting sicker Nate was there for all of it!" You explain.

"I-" Sam stands there speechless.

"Where were you Sam? Not supporting your sister. Just hiding from the problems upu caused!" You glare at Sam. You can feel claws coming on.

"Maybe if you weren't such a slut and focused on your grades we wouldn't be having this conversation." Sam yells at you.

People begin to stare at you both.

"Screw you" You lunge at him, clawing his chest, and he winces in pain before lunging back at you, Nate tries to intervene. You're close to turning thankfully all the on lookers have dispersed and it's just you, Sam and Nate.

"Don't ever bad mouth me again, it's not true. I never slept with Zack or Nate!" You growl at him.

You take one more swipe at Sam, you miss, Sam counters you, he throws you backwards into the ground.

"Next time I'll kill you." Sam sneers.

You star at him, terrified at the threat on his own sister! You're still fighting with Sam. You stare at Sam a moment, realising no one knew where you were tonight except from those in beta, madison wouldnt have said anything. So how does Sam know?

"Who told you i was here?" You demand him to answer you.

"Someone we both know" Sam reveals.

"Zack!" You yell for Zack to get outside, Zack comes walking out of the frat house with a smug look on his face.

"Told you she was here." He smirks.

"You son of a-" You go to punch Zack but Nate holds you back.

"Let's go of me!" You fight against Nate trying to get out of his grasp.

"No, we need to sort this calmly." Nate speaks softly to you.

"Fine." You drop your shoulders.

"Why don't we head inside to talk this out?" Nate suggests.

"Fine!" Sam remarks.

The four of you head into the hallway, so you're in the warmth but out of earshot of everyone at the movie night.

"I'll start, I want to protect Olivia, Zack was just causing trouble." Nate explains calmly.

"Then why is she here with you?" Sam asks still riled up.

"Ella wanted her here and this was the only way she could be here." Nate explains.

"Is that true?" Sam looks at you, he seems a little calmer.

"Yes, i can get Ella and Kain if you want, ask madison she was there too when Ella was talking about me going." You explained.

"Right, fine but if I find out you're seeing each other I'll make sure it will end." Sam warns you both.

"Why can't you let me be happy?" You ask frustrated.

"Because he's dangerous." Sam responds.

"Sure he is." You roll your eyes at Sam.

"If you'll excuse us I'd like to resume the movie now unless we are going to have more tattle talling, Zack?" Nate stares at Zack.

"Um, no." Zack looks embarrassed.

"Great, then why don't you worry about your date, and I'll worry about Olivia" Sam doesn't say another word. He storms out of beta, and Zack slinks off back to Taylor.

Nate takes your hadn't and walks you back into the livingroom.

"Your brother is a psycho." Ella whispers.

"Yeah, well, we can thank Zack for the disruption since he told Sam I was here." You explain.

"What a douche." Ella whispers to Kain, and they both glare at Zack, zack hangs his head in shame.

"What do we do now that the movie is over?" Ella asks.

"You can go back to your dorm or stay here. It's up to you, " Nate laughs.

"I guess we could crash here. It's kind of late." You reply.

"Sweet, you wanna take my bed, Kain and Ella can do the usual and sleep in Kains' room." Nate suggests.

"Sure" You smile, Nate shows you to his room.

"Make yourself comfy. I'm gonna grab some sofa cushions." Nate heads to leave the room.

You climb into Nates' bed, you stop and look at him as he's about to leave the room.

"Maybe we could cuddle, I get nightmares." You remark shyly.

"Sure." You scooch over and make room for him. He slides into bed beside you, he wraps you in a hug, he feels warm and safe you drift off to sleep ready for the next day.
