Chapter 19 - Party Crash

1301 Words
SIX DAYS LATER It was 8 PM; the night was quiet until the loud music that came from Lucas’ apartment disrupted the night. Lucas just turned 17 and he’s so excited about his new age. He invited his friends from Orleans High. However, his relationship with Bonnie and Ann is strong ever since Lucas accepted his fate and his quest to find the ‘mystical orb’ to put an end to the immortality of werewolves by making them humans again. Lucas is enjoying his closeness with Jane after the last incident. They are closer to each other now unlike before. Jane promised to keep Lucas’ werewolf identity secret. She was the first to wish Lucas a happy birthday in the morning when Lucas woke up to see the text message on his phone from Jane. More than that, she was also the first to be in Lucas’ apartment for the birthday party. Alicia isn’t that excited. Her night has been ruined seeing Lucas so attached to Jane as if something was drawing Lucas closer to Jane. Jane and Lucas have been standing intimately close to each other for the past 15 minutes before the party began and are still standing intimately close to each other. A sharp pang of Jealousy is written all over Alicia. Seeing Lucas so attached to Jane isn’t what she came here tonight to witness. She has to do something or she might end up allowing her jealousy to get more of her. She slowly lowered her red solo cup containing non-alcoholic red wine and quickly approaches Jane and Lucas. Alicia cast a burning gaze at Jane and furrows her brows. She narrowed her eyes from Jane's head to toe and then switched her gaze to Lucas. “It’s your birthday; you need more than just standing around doing nothing. I owe you a dance.” Alicia puts up a fake smile and stretched her hand toward Lucas. “I will be back,” Lucas whispered to Jane as he gently grabs Alicia’s hand. Ann has been observing everything that has been happening around her. She couldn’t just ignore how Alicia took Lucas away from Jane. She makes her way to Jane and stood beside her. “If I were you, I will use my powerful lungs, throat, and vocal cords to produce a sonic scream to end this party and when everyone is gone, I will just have my man to myself.” Ann glanced at Jane with a devilish smile. This looks tempting but that’s not the type of girl Jane is. She wasn’t raised that way to use her abilities to ruin people and their happiness. She wasn’t happy; with the way, Alicia took Lucas away from her. She knew if she will truly let her feelings for Lucas to have the best of her, she will have Alicia to contend with. She glanced at Ann and was mute. There’s no need to crash Lucas’ party because of Alicia. It’s tempting though especially now she has something in common with Lucas. However, just like Lucas has been nursing feelings for her, she has been nursing feelings for Lucas as well. She often stands by her window to stare at Lucas each time he’s on his way to school and anytime she realizes he has returned from school. She has nursed these feelings for a long time but there’s nothing she could do. She considers it not proper to be the first to confess her feelings for him. She has always said to herself, ‘If he feels this way I feel for him, he will profess what he feels for me.’ “Hey, Jane!” Ann draws Jane’s attention. “Are you not seeing the way Lucas has his arms wrapped around her waist? It’s time for you to…” “Can you hush?” Jane snapped back at Ann as she walks out on her. She has known Ann for some time now. She knows her to be a b***h that can get anyone into doing anything. She doesn’t want what happened the last time she was with Ann to happen again. They both were going after a rogue witch that feeds information to the werewolves when Ann tricked her into bringing a log cabin down with a sonic scream. She never knew the family of the witch was in the cabin too and she obliged. After the incident, she distanced herself from Ann and she wants it to remain that way. Alicia was enjoying every bit of the dance with Lucas as she rests her head on his shoulder. “What have you been discussing with her?” Alicia couldn’t help but break the silence. “With who?” Lucas pretends he has no idea who she was talking about. “Don’t play smart with me, the girl you have been standing with.” “Oh, you mean Jane?” “Whatever she calls herself.” Lucas didn’t appreciate Alicia’s tone. He pulled himself away from her. “Hey, be cool!” he said. “Now I see you have already deflowered yourself with her on your 17 birthday.” “What’s that supposed to mean?” Lucas tried not to get upset but his countenance wasn’t bright as before. “I let you into my arms only for you to promise me that you will help me forget about Jack…” Alicia paused for a while. She took a deep breath and continued in a cracking voice. “But… here you are… with another girl. Perhaps, I shouldn’t have broken up with Jack.” “You are taking this too far and you…” Lucas’ words were interrupted by Jack. “Someone is having a party without me!” He scornfully clears his throat. This is insane. No one invited him. Lucas furrows his brows on seeing Jack. “You are not welcome here. You have to leave now!” “I’m not here for you. I am here for my girl.” Jack switched his attention to Alicia. “I missed you dearly.” He puts up a fancy cute smile. “Maybe you can take me out of here,” Alicia stretched her hand towards Jack. “I don’t belong here and neither do you,” she added. “My pleasure,” Jack slowly held Alicia’s palm. He kissed it and then stared at Lucas with hate in his eyes. “I don’t ever want to see you around my girl again. She’s mine alone.” Lucas couldn't help but stares at Alicia with keenness. “Are you sure you want to…” Lucas’ words were interrupted again. But this time, it was Alicia. “What do you care, huh?” she snapped at Lucas and asked Jack to take him out of Lucas’ apartment. As Jack and Alicia walk out of Lucas’ apartment, Bonnie approaches Lucas. “Having a bad night, huh?” she asked glancing at Lucas as she stood beside him. “She’s not safe with him.” Lucas expresses his concern. “Leave her be. She made her choice.” “Jack is…” “Bam!” The sound of the slammed door pushed Lucas’ words to his throat. He quickly cast his gaze towards the front door. His gaze was drawn to a mysterious young man. There stood a young man dressed in a tunic. His eyes glowed yellow and his fangs were shiny and visible. Lucas and Bonnie weren’t the only ones to catch a glimpse of the young man dressed in a tunic. The people present at the party saw him too and what terrified them were his glowing yellow eyes and shiny fangs. They all let out a scream as every one of them started running helter-skelter looking for an exit.
