The Lost Wulfling
Christian dropped to the frozen ground. He took Moon’s reins and led her from there. Aylen rode a little farther on Sun, and then did the same, joining him in the slow approach to the drawbridge that would take them across the stream and into the courtyard of Wulfsgate Keep. Men and women on all sides paused to see the return of the lost wulfling. Some bowed. Others simply stared, keeping their thoughts of his arrival to themselves. Later, they’d talk about it. It was no small thing for the former heir of the Reach to have come home again. He was glad not to know their minds. His own was occupied, convincing himself to take every step forward.
