The next day, I was eating breakfast with Elyon watching me like a hawk. He hadn't slept in the room last night, saying he would let me adjust before he shared the bed with me. I was glad about it. I hated the feeling of his touch after everything he had done. When I had finished, he grabbed the tray with a smile. "The elders will be testing your power tomorrow and we shall soon know what we must do." He turned to leave the room. "What if I don't have power?" He froze in his steps and turned to me with a grin. "You do Oriel. You've been feeding it to that demon pet of yours. Anyone can feel how deep your power stores are. If it's pure enough, we can transition you into a guardian." He looked towards the ground. "If it's not, you will need to be reborn and I shall have to wait for you."
