The next day, I made my way over to the playground to find it was not deserted. Rhys sat among a group of girls all talking and laughing. I couldn't hear what they were saying but he was flashing that charming smile. With a huff, I turned and left to find a new place to eat. I even walked into fifth period later on purpose to avoid him. He had told people about our secret spot. The spot that was mine before he showed up. I avoided his gaze throughout class, even as I felt him staring at me. I left the class early complaining of cramps and hung out in the nurse's care for the rest of the day.
