The group quickly rushed Vanessa to the hospital for medical attention, where she was treated for food poisoning. ......................................... As soon as they stepped into the hospital, their heart was racing with anticipation. The air was thick with a sense of urgency as doctors and nurses rushed past me, attending to patients in need. The beeping of machines and the echoing sound of footsteps filled the halls, creating a symphony of chaos that somehow felt oddly serene. Despite the chaos, there was a sense of hope and humanity that hung in the air, reminding me of the incredible power of the human spirit in the face of adversity. "Did you guys put something in Vanessa's food? She seems to have food poisoning," Cecelia confronted Ann and Salma with a stern tone. Ann's voice was laced with disbelief and betrayal as she asked Salma, "How could I even think of doing such a wicked thing to my best friend? Cecilia, we both know that we didn't do such a thing, right? Salma, tell me the truth." Salma met Cecilia's gaze but remained silent. Ann persisted, "Please, Salma, just talk to me. You know you can trust me. "I am deeply sorry for what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions. I was in a tough spot and made a terrible decision to manipulate Vanessa for money. I realize now how wrong and unethical my actions were. I am committed to making things right and will do whatever it takes to earn Vanessa's forgiveness. Please know that I am truly remorseful and will never make such a mistake again. " Salma said, filled with regret. "i didn't know the medicine will result in this, am really sorry" she continued. The atmosphere was tense as Ann's angry voice echoed through the room. "Bam! I'll slap you again. How could you do such a wicked thing to your friend?" she exclaimed, her eyes blazing with fury. Cecelia, standing next to her, added to the accusation, "Doctor, don't pass by. This is the wicked i***t who poisoned our friend." The doctor, taken aback by the sudden turn of events, replied, "Really? I'll write a case against her." Meanwhile, Vanessa was undergoing medical treatment in the theater, fighting for her life. The two policemen who arrived at the scene swiftly apprehended Salma, the accused, and escorted her to the police station. Ann and Cecelia, still reeling from the shock of the betrayal, rushed to Vanessa's side, hoping and praying that she would pull through. As Salma stepped out of the hospital, the bright sun shone down on her, casting a warm glow over everything. She couldn't help but notice the people around her,, who seemed to be looking at her indirectly, avoiding eye contact. Their glances made her feel uneasy, as if they knew something she didn't. The skinny policeman appeared before her, his uniform crisp and his demeanor polite as he asked to stretch out her hands. Salma complied, unsure of what was he about to do, and extended her hand which was glowing in the sunlight. The policeman deftly placed a pair of handcuffs on Salma wrists, the hard steel encircling them with two round holes that clicked shut with a resounding echo. The scorching sun beat down on Salma mercilessly, leaving her with a glowing tan that she couldn't get rid of. The heat was oppressive, and she felt like she was suffocating. As they passed by a man at the hospital, he made a rude comment about Salma's appearance, saying "Life is over, you are worse than a smelling corpse right now". Salma's heart sank, and she felt a deep sense of self-consciousness wash over her. She tried to ignore the man and keep walking but soon found herself being consumed by thoughts of her appearance, feeling like everyone was staring at her and judging her. Salma was forcefully shoved by the policeman into a waiting van that was painted in a stark black and white pattern, with the Swart logo prominently displayed on its exterior. The deafening sound of the siren pierced through the stillness of the deserted street as they transported Salma to the police station. The van's engine roared to life, its wheels screeching as it sped off into the distance, leaving behind a trail of dust and exhaust fumes." get down you murderer", the skinny policeman said assertively. Salma depressingly got out of the van as she was held and handicapped on her hands. Salma was sent to jail. The walls of the prison were cold and gray, and the air was thick with despair. Salma sat in her cell, her head in her hands. She had been here for just today, ever since she had poisoned her friend Vanessa. The police had found her out, and now she was paying the price. She couldn't sleep at night, haunted by the memory of Vanessa's last moments. The poison had been so quick, and Salma couldn't stop thinking about the pain she had caused. Her only comfort was the knowledge that Vanessa was finally at peace. She couldn't sleep at night, haunted by the memory of Vanessa's last moments. The poison had been so quick, and Salma couldn't stop thinking about the pain she had caused. Her only comfort was the knowledge that Vanessa was finally at peace. In the cell next to hers sat a woman named Mia, who was serving time for a violent crime. Salma had never spoken to her before, but she could tell that Mia was a formidable presence. She had a fierce gaze and a sharp tongue, and no one dared to cross her. The next day, when Salma was feeling particularly low, she heard Mia's voice through the wall. "Hey, you," Mia said. "What's your story?" Salma was surprised by the question, but she decided to answer. "I poisoned my best friend, Vanessa," Salma said. "I don't know why I did it. I just wanted to manipulate her for money ." She expected Mia to judge her, but instead she heard a sigh from the other side of the wall. "We've all done things we regret," Mia said. "But you have to learn to forgive yourself, or you'll never move on." Salma was taken aback by Mia's words, but she found herself opening up to her new cellmate. As the days went by, the two women began to share their stories, and a bond of friendship formed between them. Vanessa slowly opened her eyes. She could feel the weight of the hospital bed beneath her, and the smell of antiseptic in the air. She was groggy and disoriented, but she knew that something was very wrong. The last thing she remembered was sitting at a table with her friends, talking about their lives and their dreams. Then, everything had gone black. As her vision cleared, she saw a familiar face looking down at her. It was Ann, another friend from of her. "Vanessa," Ann said, her voice breaking. "We've been so worried about you. Hope you are fine. Vanessa struggled to speak. Her mouth felt dry and her head was spinning. "I... I don't know," she croaked. "The last thing I remember is being with you guys We were talking about our dreams." Ann's face darkened. "You don't remember anything else?" she asked, her voice tight with worry. "No, that's it," Vanessa said, her eyes closing again. Ann sat back in her chair, her mind racing. ....................... Is there more to the story than meets the eye?
