Mia, moves over to lay on the couch, sipping her coffee and browsing through her phone who sat up on the bed typing away on her laptop as she works on a project for the business.
With the morning wore, Mia set her phone aside and turns her attention to Carmilla.
“Carmilla, can I ask u something?” Mia said, setting her coffee cup down on the coffee table.
Carmilla, who was sitting on the bed across from Mia, looks from her laptop. “Of course, Mia. What's on your mind?”
Mia takes a deep breath before diving into the sensitive topic.
“Are you really enjoying your marriage”.
Carmilla's expression turns guarded, and she hesitated before responding.
“Yeah! Why is everyone so worry about that”.
Mia raises an eyebrow. “Yeah? Carmilla, I mean you never really talk about it”.
Carmilla sighs, setting her laptop aside. “Well I'm sorry about that. Okay, I'll just….tell you then. Harrison and I are doing okay. I mean….I didn't have to deal with anything and he doesn't trouble me at all. Also, were growing to become best friends… I could say that.
We're closer than we use to be”.
Mia's expression softens as she was forward.
“Just wanted to hear it from your mouth. Okay, I promise not to worry anymore. Also, can you cut down the time of your video call with him. You two always disturb me from m sleep”.
Carmilla smiles
“Okay, as for that aspects…He's just checking up and I've to return the favor by doing same. Though I noticed we have nothing in common except for the love of our family. He sometimes get serious some times, but I'm used to that. Walking on eggshells around him, never knowing what will set him off…. I'm also uses to that”.
“That sounds cool for me. That what makes two people fall in love” Mia said staring at carmilla.
Just then, carmilla's phone rang, shrill in the afternoon siley. She glances at the screen, her expression turning concerned.
“It's crystal. I should take this”.
Mia nods, settling back into couch into her pillow as carmilla answers the phone.
“Crystal? What's up?” Carmilla ask, her voice sounding worried crystal's voice was tight with worry on the other end of the line.
“Carmilla, I'm so glad I reached you. It Harrison, he's in the hospital now. The doctor said he has fever but he was holding it all this while, it nothing serious as the doctor says he just needs rest and recover”.
Carmilla's expression turns concern, her brow furrowing with worry “is he okay? This is unusual, he normally has this once a year, but twice this time…. I'm so sorry to hear that”.
Crystal's voice turns hesitant.
“I think so. You know how he gets when he's sick. He always seems to get worse before he gets better”.
“You don't have to worry to much, he will get better. What can I do to help?” Carmilla ask
“Actually, it about the soup recipe, the one you normally make for him when he gets sick. I need the recipe? Crystal asked carmilla, her voice hopeful.
“Is that all? That shouldn't be a problem, let me grab my laptop and I'll send it to you”. Carmilla said, a warm feeling spreading through her chest.
As carmilla types out the recipe and sends it to crystal, Mia watches her with a curious expression.
“Everything okay?” She asked, as carmilla lungs up the phone.
“Harrison's in the hospital with a fever. Crystal's really worried about him; carmilla answered.
Mia's facial expression turned surprise.
“Oh no, that's terrible. Is he going to be okay?”
Carmilla nods, a reassuring smile on her face.
“The doctor says he'll be fine. I just sent her the soup recipe that normally relieves him from the fever. Hopefully, he should feel better”.
Mia's eyes sparkled with understanding.
“That's good. You really seem close to him like you said”. Carmilla's expression turns thoughtful, her eyes gazing off into the distance.
“At least you have heard it yourself”, Carmilla concludes, resuming her unfinished work.

Harrison lays in the hospital bed, his face pale and clammy. His sister, Crystal, sat beside him, holding his hand and looking worried. The doctor, a middle-aged man with a kind face, entered the room with a clipboard.
"Good news, Harrison," the doctor said, smiling.
“ He's free to go now, you just have to sign off at the reception”.
Harrison nodded weakly, still feeling a bit dizzy from the fever.
The doctor handed Crystal a prescription. "Here are some antibiotics and painkillers. Make sure he takes them as directed, and he should start feeling better within a day or two."
Crystal nodded, taking the prescription from the doctor. "Thank you, Doctor. We'll make sure he follows the instructions."
The doctor smiled and patted Harrison's shoulder. "You take care of yourself, Harrison. And don't hesitate to come back if you're not feeling better soon."
As soon as the doctor left, Crystal helped Harrison out of bed and into a wheelchair. They made their way to the hospital entrance, where Crystal had parked her car.
