The secret garden

“Why should we relinquish our title to them?” “You see? You can't do that, and you expect me to do the same? You expect me to sit and watch another Alpha take over from me?” “It's not the same as ours. As a young Alpha, giving your title shouldn't be difficult for you. You've not been an Alpha for long, it shouldn't be too difficult for you to do so.” “It's not the same?” I scoff, “pray tell, what's the same?” “Your duty as the Alpha of the pack is to take care of your pack, and giving up your title is the only way for you to save your pack.” “That can't be true. Giving up my title isn't the solution to all our problems.” “You think starting a war will be the solution of our problems? Wake up Dess, there's no way our pack can be able to defeat a pack as large as the fiery pack, it's not possible at all.” “Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it.” I bow before them, “if there's nothing more to discuss, I'll go back to where I came from. I have a class to teach.” “You…” Elder Dim stood from his chair. “I apologize for the behavior of my Alpha. He doesn't mean to be rash.” Teny bows to them, “he has a class to attend.” “You better talk some sense into your Alpha. He needs to know how much his decisions will affect us should he make a wrong one.” “I'll make sure I make him see reasons.” “There's nothing like seeing reasons. There's no way I'll willingly relinquish the title of the Alpha to an Alpha who's not qualified to take the post. Should he want to take the title, he can come and take it. All I know is this, there's no way I am going to allow him take the post from me without a fight.” With those words said, I bow lowly to the elders before taking my leave, Teny close Behind me. * “Dess how…” I turn into my wolf, howling at the sky, I race off for the forest. Currently, I need to clear my mind, and the only thing that can be able to do that is a race through the forest. Letting my wolf run free in some ways is therapeutic. Racing through the forest, I make use of my Alpha speed to make sure Teny doesn't catch up with me. Currently, I would rather not hear the words he's likely to say to me should we be in the same space. Knowing Teny, he'll try to manipulate my decision, and that's not something I want. I have the elders pressurizing me to give up my title as am old man that have refused to die, I don't need to add my best friend to the group of persuaders. Among them all, Teny is the only one who can be able to convince me to do stuffs, and I'll do them without many thoughts about it, that's why I don't want him anywhere near me. I don't want him to influence my decision, and make me do stuffs I would rather not do. Racing for the spring, I cross it to the other side before I changed back to my human form. Naked as the day I was born, I plunge into the water. Swimming like the pro I am, it didn't take me long to reach the secret garden *mother was the one that planted the garden, and it's the only thing of her that I have.* Not even Teny knows about this garden. He's not aware there's a place I go to whenever I feel lonely. This place helps me during my difficult times, during times when I need to vent out my anger, or times when I have to be alone. This is my go-to place, my safe haven. Changing back into my wolf to regulate my heart beat and body temperature, I walk towards my favourite place in the garden. * “Where were you?” Teny darkly frowns when I return in the evening. I don't know why, but I always lose track of time whenever am in the garden. There are days when I end up being in the garden For two days without being aware of it. “I went to have some much-needed rest.” Yawning, I plop down on the bed. “And you can't have it in your room?” he raises a brow. “My wolf needed an out, there's no way I could have being able to give him what he wants if I am to stay in my room, is there?” “Stop acting so sarcastic with me Dess, you know am worried about you.” “You don't need to be. I am a grown up man who's capable of taking care of himself, and don't worry, I am fine.” My time in the garden did me really good. It made me think more on the issue in hand, and how to go about solving it. “A grown up man who doesn't seem to know how to keep his anger in check.” Teny raises a brow. “What does keeping my anger in check got to do with being a grown up?” “For you to be a regarded as a grown up, you need to be matured. Being matured and being grown up aren't the same.” “Suit yourself.” Frowning at him, I sit up. “Have you thought on what the elders asked of you?" “If you're here to tell me…” “There's no way I can do that, Dess. You're the Alpha, and you have the right to be angry about that. I am not supporting what the elders asked of you. There's no way I can be supporting that.” Walking towards me, he places a hand on my shoulder, “know this Dess, whatever your decision might be, I'll be by your side cheering you on. You've got me, it's us against the world.”
