Mary-Katheryn
I groan and shift around. When I hear whispers near me. "I don't know what happened to her. I was asking how she found the house, and she was shouting about feet coming to us."
I hear shuffling as if someone is pacing the floor. "What else?"
"Nothing. Next thing i knew she was passed out on the floor." The pacing stopped.
"I want the how. How did she pass out?" The voice says with a little irritation.
"She fell to the ground mom, how else was she supposed to pass out." The first voice said. Which I think is Alpha Jacob.
"Ahh, alright Jacob. We shall wait for her, but did you find the people or feet she was talking about." The other voice said. Which as I wake more, I believe belongs to the woman who allowed me to stay last night. What did Alpha Jacob call her again? In- inku- inlu- no that's not it. I'll have to ask him again.
"No mom, like I said the girl is crazy." He said in a slow voice like he was talking to a child. "I believe she found the house by chance she cant be one-"
"There is nothing that happens by chance in our world son. We have to believe that maybe he is-" I shifted a little in bed trying to hear better.
"She's waking up. Maybe she can clear it up herself." I hear footsteps coming near me as I wake up.
"Mother I don't trust her, and as Alpha of this pack I want her gone." I hear Alpha Jacob's voice getting closer as the footsteps do.
"Jacob..." his mother threatens. "I will say this for the last time. SHE IS NOT LEAVING. Until we know how she found us." The bed I'm on dips a little. "Now quiet, she is awake."
I feel a warm hand brush my cheek softly. "Wake up my sweet. I hear you've had quite a morning." I feel the hand brush my hair back.
I open my eyes a little, but the light blinds me and I groan in protest. "Shut the lights off please." I whisper my voice sounding all gravely, raising my hand to shield my eyes.
"Lights are off."
I wince as the Alpha growls his annoyed answer. I slowly open my eyes so they can adjust. But there's still light hurting my eyes. I immediately close them again and groan. "Its still too bright."
There's another growl. "There are no lights in this room, its completely dark." I wince at those barked out words, and decided it would be better for my safety if I kept quiet and didn't ask him to keep his voice down as well.
"Its okay honey, your eyes will adjust." Alpha Jacob's mother says, as she brushes my hand. "Besides the light hurting you, how do you feel?"
"I feel fine ma'am." I rasp out.
"Jacob. Water." His mother demands, and I hear shuffling out the door. "Okay, we've got 5 minutes before he returns. Can you tell me what happened out on the forest, honey?" She asks gently, while still rubbing my hand.
"I don't remember what happened." I say and try to take a deep breath, but it only hurts and makes me start a coughing fit.
As I keep on coughing i roll on the bed so I don't choke and my whole body lights up with pain. I hold back the groan of pain as a glass of water is given to me and I take a much need drink. "Thanks." I say between much needed sips.
After drinking the water I give her the glass back and continue sleeping on my arms, in fear of the pain I will feel once I move again. "I'm sorry I cant be of much help."
I feel a hand at my back rubbing me. "Nonsense, you can help by getting better sweetie." She says as she continues rubbing my back.
The rubbing on my back feels so good I start dozing off. "So honey, Jacob says you heard voices in the forest."
I hear her voice like I'm in a tunnel, and when I try to answer her, I cant get the words out. I feel myself drift off to nothingness.

I hear whispering around me, but its soft and its not intrusive, so I put it to the back of my mind and keep sleeping.
But as I turn I see another body next to me. Shocked I try to move but feel too groggy and tired to even attempt a scream.
So i try to keep my eyes open as I watch the body next to me. While looking I could see that it was a profile of a man next to me, and although I wanted to panic, I couldn't drum-up enough energy for a panic attack.
As my eyes started to droop again, the man next to me shifted as well, and he looked at me, and my heart breathed a sigh of relief to see Jason.
Our eyes connected and we both just stared at each other. I felt a hand on my cheek and a thumb whipping away tears.
"Ungakhali sithandwa sami." I felt the words echo in my mind.
After those words the whispers got louder and I could make out a little of what they were whispering. But still I didn't listen because Jason was right next to me.
I tried to speak but nothing came out.
I tried again but this time only a little puff of breath came out.
He smiled at me and said "ungakhatsateki sithandwa sami, konke kutolunga."
I smiled at him and felt better after hearing him say that. After a while the whispering penetrated our little bubble, he still had his hand on my cheek, so I couldn't look at the people surrounding us.
I tried to speak again, "who are those people, and what are they saying?" My voice sounded fragile, but now I could speak and I moved my fingers to test movement.
The whispering stopped after I spoke, and it was so quiet it was unnerving. I picked up my hand since it could now move and tried to get up.
As I got up I could see silhouettes of people around us. I looked at Jason. He didn't seem scared by the dark shadows, so I tried to keep myself calm.
"Who are they?" I asked him, because the way he was looking at them, it was like he knew them.
He turned to look at me with the biggest smile I've ever seen. "Bantfu bethu laba." As he said that the whole group of black shadows kneeled down and bent their heads in reverence.
Two silhouettes kept standing and as I looked on they started to fade back to people and their color and features started showing. I saw a beautiful lady wearing a red looking emahiya and the man was wearing the same.
They both looked happy to see us, and that gave me some relief, that maybe they are not hostile shadows.
I looked up at Jason to see that he has tears in his eyes. "What's wrong?". I say a little concerned with the tears.
He doesn't answer me, but starts going forward. I grab his hand to stop him, and he looks at me.
"Ngiyekele." I let his hand go, and he keeps moving forward but this time I go with him to see who those people are.
As we get closer I can see the woman has tears in her eyes too, and she cant stop looking at Jason with wonder in her eyes. Her eyes keep roaming all over his body, as if committing the picture of him to her memory.
Once we reach them, Jason falls to his knee like the other shadows, and I go down with him looking at him for an answer. "Nkosi." He said with his head bowed very low.
I look to the colorful shadows, and see the man extend his hand and say. "Ndvodzana yami."

Jason
I wake up feeling groggy, and still on the floor. I move my head to find Blaze sitting next to me with a worried look on his face.
"Hey man." I croak, and he does nothing. I look closer to see he is asleep.
I try to get up to get a glass of water. Massive pain hits my body, but I grunt through the pain and get up. I don't want to disturb Blaze.
Once I've drank my glass of water, I look for my wallet and keys so I can leave for work. I spot them on the kitchen table. I take them and as I go to Blaze to tell him I'm leaving. I happen to look out the window.
I see stars outside, but that cant be right. I just got up for work 30 mins ago. The sun cant have gone down. I turn around looking for the clock to see the time and accidentally knock down a chair.
Blaze wakes up with a start, and assumes a fighting pose. I keep quiet as he scans the room and when he sees me, it's like he cant until he is done with the scan.
Then he does a double take. He moves fast and comes to hold my arms. "You're awake! Are you feeling ok? Do you need a doctor?" He rambles while looking me over.
I laugh a little. "Blaze, chill... I'm perfectly fine." I remove his hand and start for the door. "Just need to go to work is all." He captures my hand and stops me.
"You cant go dude, it's," he checks his wrist watch, "2 in the morning. You've been asleep the whole day. You need to chill a little." He says pushing me towards a couch.
"What do you mean, 2 in the morning. I just woke up, and am running late." I say looking at the window with apprehension.
"No dude. You've been out the whole day, you've had me worried." He says frowning a little, he then starts to pace. "You fell to the floor screaming about something being too loud, then you went quiet." He stops and looks me straight in the eyes. "Its like you were dead to the world." He says and resumes pacing. "I didn't know what to do. I couldn't take you to a hospital because I don't know any shifter friendly ones here. You freaked me out man. And i called to the diner to report what happened." He stops next to me, looking at me expectantly. "So what was the noise you heard?"
After my brain catches on to his rambling, I look to the ground, trying to remember what took me down.
And all I can come up with is the word *Jackson Royals*
I tell Blaze and he looks like he doesn't believe me. "There are no royals in our world anymore. The last royal family disappeared more than 15 years ago."
That takes me by surprise, "Wolves had Royal families?"
"Yes, they were a big deal back then. I never actually got to meet them, before they disappeared, but they were the most powerful shifters alive." He says and takes a sit on the coach.
I look to him then the window to confirm this is actually happening, then take a sit on the chair closest to me. "So why do you think I'm freaking out about them now."
He chuckles "Maybe you're the long lost prince?" We look at each other.
"Nah." We both say and start laughing.
"But still, I need to find out what is happening, because I feel like this is important, and it could help with finding my mate." Huh...
"I didn't know your mate was missing." He says what I was thinking.
I look at him a little spooked. "Neither did I." I get a feeling like whatever I saw or happened while I was out is really important and I need to figure it out soon.
