Chapter 13

Jason

It's been a few weeks since the whole fainting incident, and nothing more has happened to me. I'm just happy I've reached my mark with the money needed to get home. With Blaze helping its been easier getting things done.

I've even tried to research the Royal families to see why i would be dreaming about them, but found nothing. It makes me feel crazy dreaming about something that seems to not exist anymore in this world if ever.

I cant believe that they can just vanish like that without something of theirs being left behind to show they once existed.

We go out to work at the diner everyday in order to get more shifts for more money. Nothing new to report there just that Ms Musa is a slave driver, but a great boss. Ms Musa is Abayomi's mom, so she really pulled through for us with getting us the jobs with her mom.

As we make it back our back to our apartment I start to feel uneasy, as if something big is about to happen.

"I think its time we left Nigeria. We've been here too long and we've made enough money to get us back home." I say as i make my way to my room to clean myself up.

"What do you mean leave? We cant go yet." He says a little panicked.

"What do you mean we cant leave? I'm going back home, I'm gonna book our flights." I say as i shut my bathroom door.

When I come out I'm ready to eat, I'm starving. I go to the kitchen to make myself a light dinner so i can go to sleep. When i get there Blaze is sitting at the table looking in deep thought.

"Hey if you no longer want to help me with my situation, its fine. You don't have to stress yourself out. I'll book my own flight for tomorrow, or the next day. to have time to get to the Airport from here." i say but Blaze ignores me, so i keep quiet and mentally plan my trip from Ibadan to Lagos airport.

I take out 2 tomatoes and 1 onion to slice them up and cook a tomato salad to eat with bread and juice..

Once done preparing my food. I sit on the table to eat. "I need to tell you something." Blaze says looking at me.

"Shoot." I say as i stand to go clean up my dishes and go to bed. After I'm done I look to Blaze and he is looking down in thought. "Blaze?" i say but he doesn't answer me again. "I'm tired so good night."

I'm feeling so happy because I'm running on a an empty field with MK beside me holding my hand. As we run she keeps getting in front of me, until our hands let go.

"MK, what are you doing come back." I tell her.

"Come find me." she says and starts to speed up while laughing.

i try to match her speed but its like I'm running in quick sand. "Come find me Jason" she says again.

I look down to see nothing stopping me. When i look to her again she's gone. "Come find me Jason" she shouts again.

"Where are you?" I shout looking around trying to run to her. I see a glimpse of her but a shadow quickly covers her. "MK!" i shout, but she just says the same thing and keeps laughing. I shout her name again and again but all it does is make the shadows grow bigger and bigger.

"MK!" I shout. Then hear running feet. Then Blaze opens my bedroom door.

"Whats going on? You ok?" He asks me.

I look around panicked trying to see where I am. As my eyes look around I see the time, and my panic begins gain. "Why did you let me sleep through my alarm?" I shout as i quickly get out of bed and go to the bathroom to get ready for work.

Once done I make my way out of the apartment. "Aren't you going to work? What are you doing?" I ask Blaze as i pass him on the couch.

He looks at me like I"m the crazy one. "Are we not leaving for Lagos today?" He says as he follows me.

I don't answer him and just run. We are too late to be talking right now.

We arrive 10 mins late. We go to the back door to try and sneak in to find Ms Musa already collecting the employee time cards. "You better have a very good excuse boys." She says not even looking at us.

I look at Blaze and he just shrugs and looks away. Okay guess I have to explain. "We are very sorry Ms M. I'm the one who overslept. Nightmares." I give her my best sorry face.

"You're lucky you're handsome. But not a second time ok?" she says pointing her finger at us.

"Yes ma'am." I says and elbow Blaze in the stomach.

He just grunts and nods.

During our work break Blaze calls me to him. "When are we leaving?"

"Right after work. I needed to inform Ms Musa first. didn't want to leave without saying goodbye."

"Oh. Tell me when its time to leave." he says and goes back to work.

I go back to Ms Musa since we have no way of getting to Lagos. I need to borrow a car or find a driver.

Talking to her really helped, now everything is ready all we have to do is finish our shift and we are back home.

After work I tell Blaze whats happening, and how we are going to make it to Lagos.

"This family is truly our lucky charm. Now we just have to pack and wait for Mr. Musa to take us to Lagos."

I'm really happy we will save more money for later. What are the odds Ms Musa's brother was already going to Lagos today, and is happy to give us a ride.
