Chapter 15

"There's no way we can save her now." Lindon harshly said.

The two cousins sat in his study after their dinner. Making sure that the girl they've been taking care of had eaten to her full before they eat for themselves.

It's been a few days since she woke up but their plan in helping her get her mana particles to a normal level so that she can move her body is now going down the drain. A vexing situation for them since she seems that she's already giving up.

Jasper exhaled, slumped on his chair. "And here I am, thinking that I was giving her enough positive energy. It seemed like it didn't even work out! Shimatta*(translation: crap/damn)--ow!"

An annoyed Lindon watches his cousin rub his head where the pen he threw landed on.

"What was that for!?"

"I told you a million times to stop talking in Japanese! You're not an anime character!"

"Ha! Ha! Ha!" Jasper exclaimed, stood up from his seat with his hands akimbo and his head tilted up that Lindon could see his cousin's nose hole. "Even if I'm not an anime character as to what I wanted, I am still a character! A character in this world we live in!"

Lindon's eyebrow twitched, his head began to ache. "Get your facts straight. You're just a guy addicted to anime while living in this world."

"Gaaaah! Hi-hidoi*(translation: cruel/harsh), Lindon-kun." Jasper dejectedly said while covering his face with his right arm. Fake crying.

Lindon sighed. Putting his right arm on top of his desk, propping his elbow then resting his chin on top of his hand.

"Let me get this straight then. A girl who mysteriously appeared in the forest, weak and injured, fell unconscious. Then a guy who was just walking around, luckily spotted her and then put her to the house where he lives with his deranged cousin--" "-Hey!"

"Go buy that somewhere else. You're not a horse though. Now just shut up and let me finish." Lindon glares at his cousin who's pouting on his chair.

"The unconscious girl was taken care of by the guy's deranged and childish older cousin. And then the mysterious girl woke up. She gets all chummy with the deranged and childish cousin. She got healed and she lived with the two of them deep in the forest. They lived happily ever after. The end... was the story to your liking, huh? Dearest character cousin."

The already pouting Jasper is now sporting a line of mucus coming out of his nose and his eyes got thinned. His eyes are so thinned that it looked like it got swallowed by his eyelids, just so that he could stop his tears. All in all his cousin looked ridiculous.

"T-that was... soo beautiful!" 

Lindon is now starting to get irritated with him. That's why he sarcastically asked: "Don't you have any watching to do?"

"Nah... I'm taking a break to all of the emotional and action-packed stuff I've just watched. I'm going back to training." He answered coolly.

"Finally! You've slacked off way too much."

"Yeah... I'm going back to the basics though. Since Missy-chan is now losing her mana particles faster than we thought, I've been thinking that I could help her in healing her wounds fast enough for her to start learning mana manipulation."

Jasper's plan stumps Lindon to his seat. Despite not wanting to admit it, his impromptu plan is a bit better than to just wait until the girl's mana particles are completely gone.

Being strangers and all, Lindon is not open to the girl that he found crying in the forest only a few days ago. He has his reasons to not attach himself to anything nor anyone in particular. His cousin is an exception since they're a family, his only close family member. 

The girl is different.

Even if Jasper had already taken a liking towards her since he got nothing to lose, Lindon is still skeptical of this person.

Yet, why does he want to help her? She's already near to the brink of death and here he is... planning and putting everything within his power to try and save the girl.

Shaking his head to his wavering thoughts. Lindon stands up, grabbing his cousin by the collar and exiting his office.

"Remind me again to why we are doing this ridiculous and dangerous plan of yours?" Jasper asked.

The two are now standing side by side, facing a medium-sized stone a few meters away from the house as to not disturb the sleeping girl. Their hands outstretched, on top of the rock.

"We're going to help her, Jasper. The plan is to heal her fast but not to the point of breaking her body. That's why we're here to practice. Do you see that c***k on the stone? You're going to heal it slowly, while I do the recharging of mana particles."

"...okay. If you're really sure about this."

"Let's just go with this... unless you have a more ridiculous plan in mind?" Lindon taunts. annoyed at his reluctance.

He understands very well the danger to this plan of his but to everything that he could have thought more to, he will still go with this plan rather than anything else. If done right, the body won't explode but to heal at a fast rate and can also maintain a good amount of mana particles inside the body for a day.

They will help the wounds that take a month or two to completely heal and also let her borrow a small number of mana particles from his own body for her to use for a whole day.

With the right amount of energy that they will project, it can save her.

"Ready?"

Jasper nods, his hands begin to shake a little bit. Clearly nervous as he is.

"On three. One, two, three..."

The two slowly gathered their mana. Their surrounding atmosphere begins to feel heavier as they gather the mana inside their body. White tendrils of a smoke-like substance appear, surrounding their body like snakes slithering up and down.

The white tendrils covering Jasper slowly turns to a mix of forest green and light golden-brown color, indicating his Earth and healing magic. 

He starts to 'heal' the cracks of the stone, while Lindon's gathered mana has now the color of light blue mixed with the white tendrils. Wind and water are some of his magic abilities.

Lidon immediately willed his mana towards the rock, putting in some of his mana but then the rock suddenly cracked. Exploding itself to bits, flinging the two apart.
