Lady Lucy

Lilith opened her eyes slowly. This time she was completely sure of what had happened, some way her soul and mind had gone to another plane and that beautiful man had brought her back and as if it was not enough, he had saved her life just a few hours ago. It was already morning, but in a certain way she felt different. For the first time in a way too long time she did not feel like corpse or a miserable woman; she felt happy. With a smile on her face she got up and as her normal routine, she looked herself in her full size mirror, she was still pale as a dead but this time she saw her skin glowing, and she knew it was because of her happiness. She never felt like that before, so full of light, love and happiness; it was Monday,  but she know it was going to be a great day, sun was already shining high in sky, even if it was just 9 am. -          Thanks! – Lilith said while looking out through the window. For some reason she imagined that such beauty was meant for her and just her. For the first time the shower was not her refuge but just a simple place for her to be the necessary time and no more than that. Once out she felt so good and self confident that decided for once let herself be seen as she was, a beautiful, different woman. She turned to her closet and took her favourite skirt, corset, boots and all the accessories she always loved but never dared to actually wear; she put those pieces of cloth slowly and feeling every one of those touching her skin and at the same time, she felt like if her mask was breaking and fading with every move and every decision she just took. She felt suddenly free and beautiful while she looked at herself in the mirror, there was her perfect self-looking back at her, and those grey eyes were shining like silver drops and her red hair looked like flames marking her face, which for once did not look like one of a corpse. Lilith did not know why she felt like that after so long, but she was more than sure that the person who brought her back to her life had something to do with her own change. For the first time she was able to look at herself without being miserable,  or disappointed of herself; and she took more than normal to actually look at her outfit in her full length mirror, then she noticed it. There was a golden reflex coming out of something left on her bedside table. Lilith turned back instantly looking for the source of such unusual reflex; then she remembered, she had seen similar ones in only one place. Unconsciously she knew what it was, but she could not believe it, she had to be wrong.  She was not, after a few steps ahead she discovered the most beautiful golden rose laying on her bedside. With an unnoticed smile on the face, she moved herself closer to the so strange flower and just then she noticed, it has not been just left there but it was on top of a transparent piece of paper, and it as written with what seemed like melted gold. Her heart began to race expecting the worst, nevertheless she took the delicate letter and began to read it; it was everything except what she was expecting.       My beautiful lady, I wish I had asked you which name belongs to you so I am able to actually remember not only by your beauty but for the sound of your name. I know I am not supposed to look for you since the first warning my father gave me, but I must be honest and for the first time be able to achieve what my heart wants. We have not actually seen each other, I know, but I cannot stop thinking about the sound of your voice and the deepness of your eyes. I feel deep inside my soul that you are the person destined to set me free and guide me through the path of happiness and show me the way to the land of dreams. You are my dreamed siren and my so waited fairy and no matter what destiny say, I will find you. I hope you accept my feelings and me. Yours forever, Jared.   -          Oh dear! I must be still dreaming! Lilith said to herself after reading the note. Those things did not happen in real life! And even less to someone like her! She tried to convince herself there must have been a mistake, but deep inside her soul, the happiness she felt while reading it was something she could not deny, even if she knew she had to. She heart felt so full that moment that almost ignored the sound of her mobile phone ringing. She tried to ignore it the moment it stop, but in less than a second it began again, so she had no other option but to pop her love bubble and answer the b****y machine.   -          Lilith? Are you there?... – said a known voice; it was Martha. -          Hello! Yes as you can hear I am here -          Oh god! I was so worried. .. I could not speak to you after... -          Well probably it was because I did not want to speak to you. .. And to be honest, I still do not want to. -          But Lilith! You cannot be mad at me forever! I am your best friend! That was a low hit and Lilith hated that she brought that out, specially taking in count that Martha knew perfectly good that she had always been alone and that she was her only friend and the only person she had any kind of relationship outside her father. A soft voice appeared suddenly in her brain “not any more” and instinctively she turned to watch the note and rose in her table; the sight made her smile deeply and remember that she was not alone anymore, and for what she saw in the note, she will never be lonely again. -          Lilith? Are you there?... – Lilith had completely forgotten about Martha. -          At least for now. -          I am sorry, I should not have brought that out, it was mean from my part... -          I do not care, you had never actually care about me, so why should you care now. -          You know it is not true. .. -          Really? Well it does not matter after all, there is someone who actually cares about me so, and I do not need your fake worry. -          Someone else?... what? Are you kidding me?... -          Is that so hard to believe? Well why am I surprised coming from you, I should not have commented anything. -          But who is... -          Is not of your concern, and now if you do not mind I am leaving. -          What?!... Where are you.... -          Again, not of your concern. And with that the call was over.     The rest of the morning ran faster than she expected, she went to a new music shop, headed to her favourite museum with a new photograph exposition just to end up in a German restaurant she loved. It was just noon when Martha found her in the restaurant. Martha enter as fast as she could and looked like if she had run a marathon, but not even that real concern from her part, made her lighten her mood. She had ruined her perfect day. -          Lilith! Oh great! Finally I found you, I have been looking for you everywhere! Why did not you told me... -          Martha... dear Martha would you mind to shut up and leave! -          No I cannot! I must tell you something! -          Well could not you just send me a message? -          Would you have read it? -          Good point, probably not... go on. -          There is a new guy in college! I think he is foreign! Oh Lilith you should see him, he is ohhh. .. -          And you came here just to tell me that? -          Well no!... The important part is that he asked for you! -          He did what?! -          As you hear... He asked for you and said that if any of us found you, we should tell you that “J” is looking for you. -          J?... what kind of name is that? -          Lilith, is he your new friend? -          Well no! Honestly I do no remember meeting someone with that name. -          Then you should meet him!... -          I would but there is one little problem. .. -          Oh, do not come with that now. -          My mother! -          Ok, good point, but. . -          You are right I am meeting him. Martha jumped out of her sit as if an invisible spider had appeared suddenly in the front of her dress, and as fast as she have entered she left letting Lilith alone with the thought of that strange person who had ask for her. Some time went by before Lilith decided to actually get up and head to the college dorms. Once she was half way to the place where she probably would be a freak (more than normal) again, she decided to change her normal path and go to a new shop she had heard about some time ago, but which she never actually had the curiosity to go, but that moment everything looked better to her than to go back to college and face all of the people there looking at her and hating her because of what her friend had just told her. It took her about 10 minutes to arrive to her destiny. It was a normal looking shop from the outside, it looked so normal that Lilith even though on leaving but a strange force was pulling her in even if her mind told her to leave. She decided to follow her instinct; after all it was her best protection against any harm she could have suffered. Once inside she gulped, the place was nothing like she expected, from the outside it seemed to be the kind of place she would actually avoid by all means, but the inside was dark, somewhat creepy and the best place she had ever encountered. There she was able to find all the clothes she could want and all of them was the darkest and best to fit her common dark style. The first thing she notice was a dress, which seemed to have been out of a freak ballet. With a single sight she could identify it like a wonderful piece from Odette from swan lake (or at least that is what the tag on it said), it was black with red shiny stones sparkling like static blood drops, but the part that caught her attention was without any doubt the column of black feathers which embraced the whole left side from the hip to the neck, ending in a wonderful and dark shape if a dying swan. “What a wonderful piece” she thought to herself, after all something as beautiful was not an everyday sight. Lilith took her eyes away from the piece, and kept going while looking at everything that special place had to offer. She completely lost track of time while being there, she was surrounded by such perfection that her heart and soul did not want to leave that place; nevertheless she knew she had to go back and face her cold and unhappy reality. With a resigned sigh, she headed to the door with sadness in her heart but before she could reach it, a dark female voice spoke to her. -          Dear child, do not feel sad because you have to leave my dark emporium, once you have been inside of it, you will always be welcomed to return. Lilith froze where she was, it have been just too unexpected to hear someone else there even if she knew the owner should be there somewhere. She was about to answer and apologise to have entered to the shop without being invited when the voice spoke again. -          You do not have to apologise, you were always welcomed here, and otherwise you would have never found the way to this place. Now that you are here, no matter where you go, if you need my emporium the door will be always open to you. -          I really appreciate your offer, Mrs… -          Lucy, Lady Lucy my dear child. -          Thank you Lady Lucy for all the help you have given me so far and for your offer. -          No need for thanks my dear. I came here because of you. Your energy is way stronger than normal mortals one, but now that I see you personally I know the reason. You are the daughter of Davin. -          I am sorry, but I do not know any Davin... -          Of course you do not, that is the name the moon put to herself so no one knew her real one, but you must be careful child, the moon might be your mother, but she will not stop until she destroys you. -          I know Lady Lucy, she had already tried to kill me more than once... -          That is not the worst she can do to you, trust me I know. And with that a beautiful young woman came out of the shadows to the only light that existed in the place. Lucy was maybe in her late 20s or in her early 30s but there was something in the way she moved that made Lilith think on an 80 year old woman. Then Lucy looked at her. Her hair on the left side of her head looked soft and beautiful but it was a shiny white as if it was made of liquid silver, while the other side was black as night, but what surprised Lilith was the left side of her face.  The skin had been injured so badly that she could see deep scars along her cheek, eye, forehead and lips, and when Lucy looked at her in the eye, she saw her eye was white as if she was blind. -          Your mother did this to me child, when I was just 7 years old, she thought I might be a threat to her because of my beauty, even if I was not even similar to her, I was just dark haired and blue eyed, the reason for which I was not even near her beauty. One night she sent her snow wolf to the place I used to live and the beast just destroyed me with its claws; I survived because I was and still am immortal, but I could not stayed there. -          But why did not you... -          Why I did not do anything? -          Yes... -          Is a good question child, but I actually did. I reported it as well as my father but everyone is afraid of Davin and her rage, so nobody helped. One night a few days later the wolf returned to my house, but that night my father was ready, and when he saw the beast, he threw an silver arrow to it, and it hit the left eye of the wolf and killed it. No one imagined it would have been the worst thing to do. -          Sorry for being indiscrete, but May I ask what happened. -          That same night at midnight, Davin appeared in my room, she was raging and screaming that we were murderers and that we will pay for killing her beloved snow wolf. With that she took a silver dagger from her hair and stabbed my eye with it, I screamed and begged until my father arrived but it was too late. She put a curse on me, I was going to turn half of me on a winter demon, and I would never again be able to help or intervene in her way. I would be able to watch all disgrace which will come in future to all the creatures I care for; but if I intervene their destiny will be even worst and I will not be able to help them, because the demon in me will be the one destroying them. And with that she disappeared. A few days later the life of everyone I cared turned into hell, and everyone knew it was my fault (Davin took care of it) so one night I made a choice and I left. -          I am so sorry, I cannot imagine what it was for you to feel like that. I wish I could help you. -          Thanks for your desires child but no one can. Now is time for you to leave. Tonight is a full moon and... -          Wait what?! Oh dear Lord, I must run!... Lilith ran desperately to the door, but before she could reach it Lucy spoke again. -          Lilith wait a second, take this. Anytime you want to come back wear this and your heart will guide you back. But never lose it or lend it otherwise you will never be able to return. -          Thank you Lady Lucy. -          You are welcome, now run and keep yourself safe. With that Lilith went through the door and began running.
