Arielle’s POV The sound of rain hitting the windows woke me before dawn. But I still remained under the heavy blankets for a few seconds, staring at the unfamiliar ceiling while exhaustion clinging to my body like wet cement. My shoulder was still hurting from the warehouse incident two nights ago, though the doctor Viktor forced into the mansion insisted the injury was a minor one and there should be no cause for alarm though I found that unsettling.
